Aaknksha set Aru down in the hall and lowered herself to the floor beside him. She needed a moment to compose her emotions. She prepared Arnav for the meeting. The boy knew he was meeting a very important person, she did not tell him that he was going to meet his dad. She wanted Aru to know Maan before she broke the news to him. Aru was only nine, she wanted to take it slow with the boy.

"Kya hua, mumma? (What happened, Mumma?)" Aru gently cradled her face. The sheen of tears in her eyes worried him.

Aakanksha gave him a warm smile, "Remember I told you about meeting someone."

"Yes, your friend," Aru smiled. "You said he will come to meet us today."

"He is here to meet you. I want you to be yourself with him. He is very important to me."

"How important?" Aru bit his lips. His mother only said that about people she loved. She was the same when she introduced him to his family.

"Very important." Aakanksha caressed his face gently. "He means the world to me."

"Just like dad?" Aru could not stop the question. His mother was always honest about her emotions. She told him everything about her relationship with Maan. He never knew his father's love, but he always knew his father, though her. Abhimaan Rajwanshi was a hero, he wanted to follow in his footsteps. He wished he could come back soon. He was kind of tired of waiting for him.
