You walk over to the lake where the Spelldrive club is fishing for catfish. Grim leaps off your shoulder and trots over to Epel. "What's the word, Spelldrive Club?"
Epel smiles and waves to you. "Hey! What's up Grim and Y/N? This'll be my third catch!"
Grim smirks. "Ooo, you're gettin' the hang of this, huh? Not strugglin' at all."
Epel shrugs, rubbing the back of his neck. "I picked up a lot from Ruggie. We still haven't caught a giant catfish, though."
Ruggie walks over, waving to you with a grin. "Heya, Y/N."
You wave to the hyena. "Hi, Ruggie."
Ruggie looks to Epel. "Hey Epel, toss me that fish you just caught."
"Oh, sure." Epel tosses the fish to Ruggie. "It's the club's anyway. What are you going to do with it?"
"Cut it up and use it for bait." Ruggie answers. "Giant catfish are voracious eaters. They'll eat anything you throw at 'em. But there's no telling if one'll show up with the way we've been doing things. So we need juicier bait. Something that'll instantly draw 'em out."
"So you use the big fish as bait to catch even bigger fish." Epel laughs. "You're a genius, Ruggie! You really do know everything."
Ruggie chuckles. "Save your compliments for when we've actually caught one. And be sure to follow up with a token of gratitude. Here you go. I've baited the hook. Give it a try."
Epel takes the fish hook and attaches it to his fishing rod. "Thank you. Here goes nothing!" He tosses the hook into the water. "I'm feeling a bit nervous..."
"You're doing fine." Ruggie assures. "C'mon. Heeere, fishie, fishie..."
You and the boys wait quietly for a curious catfish to wander by. For a long moment, nothing happens. But then, the line pulls against the fishing rod. Epel nearly loosing his grasp on the pole.
"Woah!" Epel fights back and reels in the line.
"And there it is!" Ruggie grins.
"Yes, I've definitely got a bite!" Epel smiles even when fighting against the fish. "And it's way stronger than any of the other fish we've caught so far!"
Ruggie laughs. "That's gotta be our catfish! Okay, Epel, not to insult your intelligence or anything, but DON'T LET GO!"
"I won't," Epel starts getting pulled towards the lake. "but it's dragging me into the lake!"
"Spelldrive Club!" Ruggie shouts. "Quit slackin' and get over here! We need all hands on deck to keep Epel on dry land!"
The other club members rush over to make sure the fish doesn't drag Epel into the water.
Grim excitedly bounces on his toes. "Y/N! They're reelin' in a big one!"
You grab the camera from your bag. "Getting the camera ready."
The sound of tinkling bells draws closer.
Ruggie flicks his ears to the direction of the sound. "Wait a minute... That sound..."
You look to the forest and see the fairies made of plants flying towards the lake. They're angry voices ringing like bells.
Ruggie flattens his ears and scowls. "Geez, who just interrupts a big moment like this? Epel, stay focused on that fish! Everybody else, back him up! I'll shoo off these fairies!"
While Ruggie fends off the fairies, the club helps Epel pull in the fish. You stay to the side so the boys don't have to worry about defending you as well. Once Ruggie chases the fairies off, Epel reels in the fish. The catfish is flung from the water and lands to the ground, flopping around.
