Idia And His New Game

You recline on the couch, fiddling with your phone. It's been a long day at class. But now that you're back in Ramshackle, you're not sure what to do. You're about to give up finding what to do when the door bell rings. Curiously, you make your way to the door. Opening it, you're surprised to see Idia on the other side.

"Oh, hello Idia."

Idia stares at the floor and shuffles his feet. "Um, hey."

Idia goes quiet, still staring at the floor.

"Is there anything I can do for you?" You break the awkward silence.

"I-uh," Idia rubs his neck. "I made this game and was wondering if you'd like to try it?"

"Sure, I'd love to," You step to the side to let him in. "Come on in."

Idia nods, stepping into the foyer but stoping just past the door. You tilt your head curiously as you close the door. "So what's this game you've made?"

"It's about, uh..." Idia clears his throat. "It might be easier if I just show you."

"Alright then." You laugh. "Then let's head to the lounge."

You walk into the lounge with Idia trailing behind you. Idia kneels by the TV as he inserts the game. You sit on the couch as the screen lights up, the game loading.

Idia sits on the couch next to you. "Ortho suggested I make this though I didn't really take it seriously up until recently. This is just an early demo so it's nothing great."

"I'm sure it'll still be fun." You say cheerfully as Idia hands you the controller.

The game finishes loading and a silhouette of the school appears. The game title appears saying Twisted Wonderland.

Your eyes widen. "Did you make a game about the school?"

Idia sheepishly rubs his neck. "Yeah, uh, Ortho and I talked about this game idea. I don't know if it will be good though..."

"Well let's play it and find out." You smile as you press start.

The game loads, only showing a black screen. Your character hears a noise and tries moving around, only to find that there in a coffin. The door blasts open and you see a little gray creature on the other side who looks a lot like Grim.

"Wait, that's what happened to me!" You turn to Idia. "Is the game about me?"

Idia's cheeks flush. "I might've been a bit inspired by your story. Someone from another world stuck in a school with magic... I-I didn't add your name or any physical descriptions but if you don't like it I can totally drop it..."

You shake your head. "No, it's okay. It's actually kinda fun to relive the moments like this."

"Oh, are you sure?" Idia asks. "Cause I can change anything you don't like since it is about you."

You only laugh. "Let me play it first and then I'll tell you."

Idia grins. "Alright, fair enough."

You continue the game, enjoying every moment of it. It basically plays out like how it really happened. Your character meets Crowley and he explains the way the school works, you try to get home but find that you can't, then you stay in the old ramshackle house.

You laugh as you and the Grim character defend against the ghosts of the house. "Okay, how did you know that this happened?"

"I might've done a bit of research." Idia shrugs.

You continue playing. The demo ends when you're officially a student at the school and the new resident of the Ramshackle dorm.

Idia nervously looks to you. "So, uh, what do you think?"

You nod excitedly. "I loved it! Thats got to be the best game I've played!"

Idia chuckles. "Well, I'm glad at least you like it."

"You'll have to let me know when you finish the game." You smile brightly.

Idia nods. "Can do."

You hand him a controller. "Want to play a game with me?"

Idia smiles as he takes the controller. "With you, always."
