No Further Carelessness

In the coliseum, things aren't faring any better. The Magicam monsters run amok and take pieces of the props. Stealing the gold and even parts of the ship. Some climb atop the ship and pretend to be pirates. The Savanaclaw students get increasingly mad at the ruffians.

"I'm gettin' real tired of your nonsense!"

"Do we gotta beat some sense into you? HUH?"

The Magicam monsters don't seem afraid of the aggressive students.

"Whoo! This is SO intense!"

"Can you do that again? I wanna capture it for posterity!"

Jack and Coach Vargas run into the coliseum and into this mess.

"The Savanaclaw students and guests are having an argument." Vargas narrows his eyes. "This could blow up any second now!"

Jack flattens his ears, his tail waving anxiously. "Neither side would listen to me when I tried to talk them down. I had no idea what to do."

"Where's Housewarden Kingscholar?" Vargas asks. "The students would listen to him."

"Well..." Jack glances to Leona.

Leona steps towards the students. "Hey. Guys. You better listen to me when I say... DON'T LET ANY OF THEM LEAVE HERE WITHOUT A VERY PAINFUL LESSON IN MANNERS!"

The coach's eyes go wide. "He's not stopping them? He's instigating?"

Jack rubs his neck. "Yes, sir. Leona's the angriest of them all. Ruggie and the rest of the Halloween management committee have been keeping a lid on things, but they're at their limit."

Ruggie rushes over to the wolf. "Ah, Jack! You brought Professor Vargas! My signature spell can't hold Leona for much longer! Please, you gotta do something, and fast!"

Vargas shakes his head. "Someone's bound to get hurt if we don't stop this. Okay! Let's settle this fair and square, the muscular way!"

Leona glares at the coach. "Butt out!"

"Yeesh." Ruggie steps back. "They're beyond reasoning with. Jack, I say we sneak in a spell or three and eject the guests."

"What?" Jack looks to Ruggie in surprise. "We can't use magic on laypeople!"

"If we don't, then they're gonna get hurt." Ruggie argues. "If you want this to be a happy Halloween, you gotta make some tough calls!"

Jack looks to the ruffians with a growl. "Fine."

The two use magic to kick out the Magicam monsters while Vargas quite literally throws them out the door. Once all the ruffians are gone, Jack and Ruggie breathe a collective sigh of relief that none of the visitors got hurt by the angry students.

Leona scoffs. "They got away. Guess they live to 'Cam another day. If I see 'em around here again, I'm gonna roast 'em on a spit!"

"Easy there, Kingscholar. What led to this, anyway?" Vargas asks.

"It's not his fault!" A Savanaclaw boy defends the lion. "The visitors started it!"

"Yeah!"

"They were tampering with our Halloween exhibit!"

Vargas raises an eyebrow. "They were? After all your hard work? I'd say you're within your rights to be mad. But why would they do something like that?"

Jack hands the coach his phone. "Here, Professor, read this. I've got the article pulled up on my phone."

"Let's see here..." Vargas reads the headline. "'Rumors Buzz Over Night Raven College's Pirate Ship, Make Your Wishes Come True!' What in the world?"
