"It's no use!"

You and the boys walk back to the spot you've arrived at. All of your attempts to leave the island ended up failing. You sit down on the beach under the shade of the palm trees.

Jack throws his makeshift broom to the ground. "I tried making a broom out of a branch and some fronds, but after flying out over the water a ways, I dropped like a rock. I can't believe magic really does fade out."

Lilia smirks, sitting on a sunny spot in the sand. "You see? What did I tell you? Let this be a lesson to listen to your elders."

Floyd bursts out laughing, sitting not to far from Lilia. "I watched you desperately swimmin' back to shore. You've got a good dog paddle, Sea Urchin."

Riddle sighs as he plops onto the sand next to you. "I thought using magic to make a raft was a good idea, but the waves are so high, I don't think it could safely crest them."

"You have it your best shot." You try to reassure.

"I walked around almost the entire island, but I couldn't get cell signal anywhere." Azul says.

Grim flops onto the sand. "I tried tunnelin' a hole in the sand, but the sand just filled the hole right back up. I was totally ready to dig us a path all the way back to school and everythin'."

Ace sits beside you, rolling his eyes at the cat. "I think that plan was doomed from the start."

You rub your eyes tiredly. "What now?"

Azul hums as he thinks. "What haven't we tried yet...?"

"I can't think of anything." Riddle shakes his head.

Floyd only grins. "We've tried enough stuff already, right? Let's just give up on escapin' and explore the island."

You bring your knees to your chest. "I don't know, guys. Should we take a break and come back to this later?"

Jack kneels down beside you, placing a hand to your shoulder. "Hey, don't give up yet."

"I'm not giving up," You say. "It's just when I have a creative block, I take a step back and come back to it later. I'm just suggesting a break."

Floyd looks to you with a grin. "Actually, I think Little Shrimpy's right. Why don't we stop bangin' out heads against a brick wall and try to enjoy this? This is a pretty wild place. Who knows? Maybe somethin' even cooler could happen."

Ace rolls his eyes. "Floyd, could you PLEASE not jinx the rest of us?"

Lilia furrows his brow. "What's that roaring noise?"

Everyone goes quiet. Sure enough, you hear a noise growing steadily louder.

"Where's it coming from?" You ask.

"Look up!" Floyd points to the sky.

Looking to the sky, you see a bright green light in the sky. A trail of green smoke follows behind it.

"Is that a falling star?" Lilia's eyes widen. "It's falling this way! Everyone, get down and cover your heads!"

The object on the sky falls closer to the island, appearing to be aiming right for the beach. Jack wraps an arm around you and dives to the ground. He holds you close to his chest and shields you as the object is upon you. The bright light sails overhead and into the jungle, crashing through the trees. The impact sends a shockwave that reverberates through the trees and picks up the sand. You shut your eyes tight as the sand blows over you.

When it calms down, Jack loosens his hold on you and helps you sit up. The rest of the boys get up as well.

Riddle stands up and brushes the sand off him. "Looks like it fell in the woods. At least it didn't land near us. Is everyone all right?"
