"Nevermore was created as a safe haven for our children to learn and to grow," Weems began. "No matter who or what they are." The crowd began clapping, and once they settled down, Weems continued. "I realize most of you have heard about the unfortunate incident involving one of our students. But I'm happy to report that Eugene is on the mend and is expected to make a full recovery. So let's focus on the positive and make this Parents' Weekend our very best yet."

There was more clapping as Wednesday scoffed. "On the mend? Try in a coma. And that's only thanks to whatever Wanda did to him."

Enid turned to her. They were no longer holding hands or standing arm to arm since both of their families could now see them. "Have you been to see him yet?" Her and Wanda had tried urging her to go, but she never did. Wednesday turned to her and Enid realized the answer without her needing to say it. "You're his friend."

"I'm the reason he's in the hospital."

"That is not your fault, okay? Me and Wanda will continue to tell you until it sticks. And we'll do the same for her once we see her. Besides, Tyler hasn't attacked anyone in the past week. And the red cloak hasn't shown up again either. Maybe we finally scared them off."

"Or maybe they went into hiding to avoid this weekend." She glanced over at her family looking around. "I knew I should've worn my plague mask." Enid gave her a pointed look. "Apologies. I mean...I am so happy to see them." The flat tone said otherwise.

Enid chuckled, but appreciated the effort. "Just look at my family and you'll appreciate yours more." They glanced over to where her family were. Joey and Josh were sitting on one of the wooden tables, talking and howling playfully. All while Jimmy ran around the table chasing their oldest brother Charles who was a junior in college. Charles and Enid probably talked even less than her and the triplets, but that was to be expected seeing how little she talks to the triplets anyway. The reason why was simple. Charles was the most like their parents. "Talk about toxic pack mentality. I give my mom thirty seconds before her judge-y claws come out." And that was being extremely generous, that it honestly just boarded on lying.

"If you ever need her disposed of—"

"You're not killing my mom, Wednesday."

Wednesday looked away from Enid's family and back to her own. "We're all allowed our choices. Even if they're wrong."

Enid smiled and rolled her eyes playfully. "Let's get this over with." Wednesday nodded once and the two crossed each other to head to their families.

"There she is," Gomez cooed as Wednesday approached and Morticia opened her arms for an air hug. "Oh, how we missed those accusing eyes and youthful sneer." Gomez stepped forward and gave her a quick hug before stepping back to his wife.

"How are you, my little rain cloud?" Morticia asked.

"I thought Thing was filling you in on my every move." Her parent's eyes widened some as they glanced at each other. Even Pugsley looked at them, though more confused than anything. "I uncovered your feeble subterfuge almost immediately."

"So, how's the little fella doing?" Gomez asked. "Does his still have all his fingers?" He raised his hand and wiggled his own.

"Relax. I haven't snapped any of his digits. Yet."

"So tell us everything," Morticia pleaded.

"Since you've abandoned me here, I've been hunted, haunted, the target of an attempted murder, and..." was she really going to admit the next part. She might as well. She's sure her mother already knows. "Fallen in love with two girls." Well, technically she's pretty sure she's not in love with Wanda yet, they haven't even started dating, but no point going into the semantics.
