The next night came quickly, and Enid's lie of using the lupin cages worked all too well. She tried not to be disappointed about the fact that she was once again not wolfing out. She just didn't understand why she wasn't. All signs point to her being on the verge of doing it, but it just never happens. And with each full moon that passes, she begins to think it never will. But she tried not to think about right now. She needs to focus.

They made it out of the school gates and began the trek to the Gates Mansion. It took an hour of mostly silent walking before they arrived. They were dressed warm for the chilly November air and even all wore their matching snoods. Wanda's was purple and green. They had their flashlights, Wednesday had her pocketknife, Wanda had her magic, and Enid had her claws. They were as ready for anything as they could be.

They had to fill Wanda in on everything, but she was ready to help regardless. It just got her thinking about how the Gates Family is supposed to be all dead. Was it possible one of them lived? Or was this another person taking up their vendetta? She didn't know.

Eventually they reached the gates of the mansion. Enid shuddered at the sight. "I know it was technically my idea to come here together, but this place is creepy AF."

Wednesday smiled a little. "I know." She walked forward and began to pick the lock.

Wanda grabbed Enid's hand and squeezed comfortingly. "Everything will be fine. And hopefully, we'll find evidence to connect to Tyler."

Wednesday got the lock open and pushed open the gates. "Come on, let's check the garage first." She walked in and Enid and Wanda quickly followed. They went to the garage and Wednesday tried to open the doors, but it was locked and she couldn't.

"Can I try?" Enid asked hesitantly. Wednesday stepped back and grabbed her flashlight for her as Enid stepped to the doors. She grabbed the handles and on the third tug, the door burst opened.

Wanda grinned. "Okay, babe, pop off."

Wednesday was staring at Enid with a look of awe in her eyes. "Impressive."

Enid smiled and shrugged. "It's a werewolf thing."

Wednesday handed back her flashlight and the three of them walked in. Wednesday turned on the overhead light, and they found a car with a tarp over it. Wednesday pulled it off making her eyes widen.  "This is the car that hit the mayor."

"Okay, this just took a dark turn," Enid said panicked. "We need to call the cops right freaking now."

Wednesday turned to her. "Why? So they can take me back to Nevermore and get me expelled? It's not gonna happen." She walked off to keep exploring.

"But they need to see this," Wanda pushed as they followed after her.

"We can leave an anonymous tip once we're done here." Wednesday led them into the house, door creaking as she opened it.

Enid began to whimper so Wanda grabbed her hand again. The house was dark and dusty, filed with cobwebs, but as they shined their flashlight up and down the area, they didn't find anything out of pocket. Though Wanda snapped around when she felt like she was being watched. However, she saw nothing. Now she was even more on edge.

They made their way into the library, and Wednesday began pulling on some books in hopes of revealing a secret entrance. They didn't work, but then she noticed that one of the symbols on the pillar was kind of popped out a little. Whereas the other one was completely flat. She reached up and pushed on it, causing a clicking and whirring sound as the bookshelf moved in and to the side. Enid and Wanda joined Wednesday at the noise and it revealed an alter to Joseph Crackstone.
