Wednesday explained everything in the morning. The atmosphere was sullen as they helped her pack, and more than anything, they just wished things could have ended differently. Enid and Wanda told Wednesday that she should've come to them and not the others. Or at the very least not exclude them. Wednesday wished she had. Because maybe then this would just be another tired morning conversation...not a goodbye.

"I'm going to miss you so much," Enid said teary eyed as they stood beside all of Wednesday's steamer trunks. "Nothing will be the same without you."

Wednesday took a deep breath as the grabbed a stack of books and walked to the last open trunk to put them away. "Though now you'll have more time for each other. Leaving me in the past."

"Not ever!"

"Yeah, Wends," Wanda agreed, "if you think we won't be calling and texting you everyday then you're delusional."

"What about you?" Enid asked hesitantly. "Will you forget about us?"

Wednesday set her last book down and faced them both completely so they would hopefully understand just how much she means what she's about to say. "Enid, Wanda...the mark you have left on me is indelible. Anytime I grow nauseous at the sight of a rainbow, or hear an acoustic guitar that makes my ears bleed, I'll think of you both."

Wanda chuckled softly as Enid smiled. They knew that was Wednesday's way of assuring them. She still wasn't the best at talking about her feelings directly, but she would always at least try for them. And that's why she continued talking as she walked over to grab the final stack of books.

"I always believed relying on other people to be a sign of weakness." She walked back over to the trunk to put them away. "That inevitably they would lead me to disappoint. Turns out I've been the disappointment."

"Are you kidding me?" Enid walked closer. "I've learned so much from you. Part of it is admittedly criminal behavior, but...most people spend their entire lives pretending to give zero effs, and you literally never had an eff to give."

"And I'll never forget what you did for me on October 28th," Wanda reminded. "You're not a disappointment, Wednesday. And we love you so much."

"So any chance you've got some sort of sneaky plan to elude Weems?" Enid asked.

Wednesday shook her head and pulled out the drawing she got from Rowan that she had taped back to its other half. She held it out for Enid and Wanda to take. "I've been thinking, and this prophecy cannot come true if I'm not here." She let her hands drop back to her side. "But it kills me to leave when Tyler is still walking around free."

"If he tries anything," Enid assured, "we have a school full of gorgons, vampires, witches, and werewolves, ready and waiting. We've got this, Wednesday. I promise."

But it wasn't as comforting as Enid most likely thought. Because that meant Enid and Wanda would be in danger. And that was the last thing she wanted. But she also knew Enid was trying to be brave. Wednesday wasn't about to take that from her.

"On a happier note," Enid continued, "I got a text from Eugene's moms. He woke up last night. Maybe Weems will let you drop by on your way to the station."

Thing snapped twice to get their attention. And then used his thumb to the point to the door. It was time for Wednesday to go.

Wednesday closed her last trunk. "I think we're all set."

Enid turned to Thing. "Thing, I'm going to miss our makeup tutorials. And you better keep sending me moisturizing tips. Stay in touch, okay?" She gently tapped her fist to his and then he crawled into Wednesday's bag.
