A liar's song 🍋

You sit on your couch eating a bowl of noodles. It's been a long week. Lady Tsunade had increased patrols and you were finally home relaxing.

Well, that's what you were supposed to be doing but you couldn't. Something blocked your mind. You couldn't bring yourself to relax.

A knock on your front door made you heavily sigh. You set the bowl on the table and open the door. "Huh? Genma, what are you doing here?"

He'd been your patrol buddy and from the looks of his expression, it was full of exhaustion as well.

"Lady Tsunade has summoned all of the newly formed platoons. She wants those who'd been on patrol there as well." You nod your head and rush to your room to get dressed in your ninja attire.

Once everyone was on the Hokage's roof, she explained that the land of fire had been infiltrated by two Akatsuki members.

"That's all I have to say." She announced. "Does anyone have any questions?" You and Asuma raised your hands.

You lowered yours sensing that he was going to ask the same question you had in mind. "Chiriku, a former member of the Guardian Shinobi Twelve, should be there." He said.

"What happened to him?" Your eyes flew to the monk who stood beside Lady Tsunade. If he's here...

"Lord Chiriku died by their hands." Your eyes widened. Asuma also was in a state of shock. "How is that possible?" You gritted out under your breath.

"For the pride of the Hidden Leaf and most of all, for the safety of the Land of Fire. We must not let them rampage any further. I want to know what they're after but they're very dangerous." She announced in full authority.

"Don't let them out of the Land of Fire, no matter what. Find them without fail and if you're unable to restrain them, kill them!" You closed your eyes and tightly closed your fist.

"Go! Dismissed!"

You and another Jounin were sent to go over and review the security measures of the village then you were able to go back home.

"Did you know him?" The two of you leap from tree to tree. You however more determined to get this over quickly. "Yes. My brother was apart of the Twelve Guardian Ninja."

"Our family traveled a lot so I didn't really have a home village or anything, so I stuck with him. I met Asuma and Chiriku there, trained with them, and when my brother died Asuma brought me to the leaf." She hummed in understanding.

"That'll explain why I didn't recognize you from my academy days." You nodded.

Once you were finished, you went home. That security assignment took longer than expected.

The sun was setting and you were now stepping from your shower and wrapping yourself in the soft towel. You observed the newly imprinted scars from the recent mission and previous fights.

Once I finish getting dressed I walk into the kitchen filling the sink up with warm water and dish soap. "Something isn't sitting right with me."

"And why's that?" You grabbed a knife from the dish rack and put it against the intruder's neck. Soap-suds ran down your hand and dripped onto the floor. "How do you keep doing that?" You remove the knife from his neck and then rub your forehead.

"Doing what?" His forehead touched mine and a smirk sat on his face. "Oh, so we're playing dumb now?"

"What do you mean?" I was placed on the cleared counter and my arms rested around his neck. You playfully scoffed. "I'm starting to think you only want me for sex Tobi?"
