Fuck this morning can't get any worse.

I woke up at a time I usually would if I had a mission. Super early in the morning that is.

Now you were stress cleaning.

Tobi was also still here so I think I woke him up from all the noise.

He plucked the broom from my hand and grabbed my waist. I didn't even hear him leave the room. "What's wrong?" You shook your head.

"I'll be back." I zipped my jacket up before heading out the door.

———

"Here's your food, Y/n." A bowl was placed in front of you and immediately the savoring smells hit your nose. "Thank you, Ayame."

"Please. Anything. Ramen." Kakashi and Yamato enter with a very exhausted and starved Naruto. "Food. Pork slices. Fish cakes."

"Kakashi what did you do to him..." You gaped. "Oh Y/n, you're here." Yamato waved.

Naruto walked to the chair beside mine and grabbed my arm. "Please one bite.." Kakashi grabbed him by the collar placing him in a different seat as he took the one beside you.

"Just one bite." He whispered into your ear making you slap his head away. "What do you mean you don't sell ramen anymore!" You both looked down to chairs to see Naruto bickering with Ayame.

"So what's got you here this early?" Kakashi asked me as his eyes rested closed. "Couldn't sleep."

"And why's that?" I continued eating wondering how to approach the question.

'Oh you know I'm fucked up in the head and overthink every little thing so it's probably nothing.'

'Yeah just on edge since a member from the Akatsuki's practically voweled to kill me.'

'Nothing much just thinking about the time we had sex on a mission.'

"I went to bed early and now I'm wide awake." I sent him a small smile as he observed me. "I see. Well if-"

"Thank you for the food," I announced my goodbyes and exited the shop. The gray clouds in the sky visibly reflected your emotions.

I pulled myself onto a familiar window seal. I glanced around before placing two soft knocks on the door. "I knew it was you." Kurenei slid the door open letting me inside.

"Why don't you ever go through the front door like a normal person." She laughed handing me a bottle of water. I took a seat on the couch beside her and sighed. "Because there's no fun in that."

"Yeah." A silence loaned over the two of us and the smiles slowly fell. "You feel it too...don't you?" I chewed at my bottom lip and my leg bounced anxiously.

"It's been bugging me all morning. Have you heard back from any of the teams?" I picked at the wrapper on the water bottle. "I don't want to overthink it but I haven't been able to sleep because of it either."

"What else is bothering you?" She placed a hand on your knee and you stifled tears. "Asuma is the only one of the Guardian Ninja left. That means the difficulty of all of his missions- fuck." I wiped the tears from my face and scoffed.

"Why didn't she send me on the mission with them?" I sighed looking at her. She wiped my tears and closed her eyes. "Because the village needs you here. There's an Akatsuki member that threatened to kill you. Do you think she'd let you go on an Akatsuki Suppression mission?"

"I guess you're right." I'm just overthinking this. "How's your love life?" She nudged you trying to change the subject.

"How's that Yobi? Kobi-" I held up a hand trying to hold in a laugh. "Kurenei- His name is Tobi." She laughed and shrugged her shoulders.

"How would I know? You hardly talk about him anymore." Your eyes widened. "Oh shit!" I scrambled to my feet tripping over the carpet.

She sat in the chair unamused. "I still wonder how you're a ninja. Let alone Anbu..."

"He's at my house right now." Her eyes widened. I rushed to put my shoes back on. "You left your guest at your house alone. Have I not taught you anything Y/n?" She mimicked my mother's voice.

We both laughed and I slid the window back open. "Bye love you!" She shook her head with a smile. "For the last time use the door Y/n!" She exclaimed out the window.

I grabbed the doorknob to my house and once inside I locked it. "Fuck." I massaged my brows flicking on the light switch.

I turned the corner only to see Tobi sitting on the couch with folded arms. Once I was in his range of sight he slowly opened his eyes which peered into my soul.

"Are you ready to talk now?" Even though it was a simple question. It came out with a slight force. "I'm fine now..." I fiddled with the zipper on my jacket.

Was I really? No.

He stood up and approached me.

"You can tell me." He raised your chin making you sigh. Fuck it.

"Akatsuki members have been spotted. I'm just worried." I turned around back to the dishes and continued washing them. "They won't do anything to you." He assured.

"How can you be so sure about that?" I moved on to another task since he took the broom.

I adjusted my living room around. "Because I am."

"It's not me I'm worried about." I thought back to all of the teams that were on that roof who were sent to track their location. "I'm sure they'll be fine Y/n, but... it all depends on you."

"What?" You took the glass of water from beside him and chugged some of it down.

"Don't go involve yourself in things you can't control." You furrowed your brows and took a step away from him. "What do you mean don't involve-"

Suddenly it hit you.

The glass from your hand dropped onto the floor, shattering into pieces. Your hands began trembling and you gasped.

My eyes shifted to the open window.

I walked past Tobi and out the front door. Something was wrong. You felt it in the air.

"What the hell is going on." You felt a hand get placed on your shoulder and you slapped it away.

"I'm sorry." That was all he said. You looked up into his dark eyes.

It took a moment but you soon realized what it was.

Death.
