The sun was setting over Monaco, casting a warm golden glow across Lando's balcony. He stood outside, leaning on the railing with his phone in hand, staring at his Instagram feed. His thumb hovered over the screen, hesitating for a moment. He had been thinking about this all day.

Lily was sitting inside on the couch, looking out at the view as she scrolled through her own phone. They hadn't talked much since their conversation about the media closing in on them. It wasn't tension—it was the weight of the decision they both knew was inevitable.

Lando glanced over his shoulder at her. She looked peaceful, her hair falling softly around her face, her focus elsewhere. For a moment, everything felt perfect. And maybe that's what made him decide.

Without another second of hesitation, Lando clicked on the photo he had saved. It wasn't anything dramatic—just a candid shot he had taken of Lily when they were in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago. She had been laughing at something he said, her face lit up with pure joy, the ocean and sunset framing her in the background. It was one of his favorite photos of her.

He quickly typed out the caption: "Keeping this one a secret was impossible 💙"

Before he could change his mind, he hit Post.

The familiar Instagram notification sound immediately buzzed as the likes and comments started pouring in. He locked his phone and set it down on the balcony table, his heart racing. He had just made them official, publicly.

For a few moments, nothing happened. Then, from inside, he heard Lily's phone buzz. And then buzz again. And again.

"What's going on?" she asked, glancing at him, her brows furrowed as her notifications blew up.

Lando shrugged, trying to look casual, but the glint in his eyes gave him away. "Why don't you check?"

Lily picked up her phone, unlocking it to find dozens of new notifications, people tagging her in Lando's post, DMing her, and flooding her comments. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized what he had done.

"Lando..." she whispered, her eyes wide as she looked up at him. "You posted about me?"

He nodded, walking back into the living room and sitting beside her. "Yeah. I don't want to hide anymore. I don't want to pretend that you're not the best thing in my life."

She stared at him, stunned, her emotions swirling between surprise, fear, and—beneath all of that—relief. "Are you sure? You know what this means, right? Everyone's going to be all over us."

"I know," he said softly, taking her hand in his. "But I'm ready for it. As long as you are."

For a moment, Lily didn't say anything. She glanced back down at her phone, seeing the flood of comments, many of them supportive but some, inevitably, not. The world was already buzzing, and she knew this was the beginning of something huge. But as she looked at Lando, his steady gaze reassuring her, she felt a warmth spread through her.

Finally, she smiled, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Okay. Let's do this."

Lando grinned, kissing the top of her head. "We've got this."

They spent the next few minutes scrolling through the comments together, laughing at some of the funnier ones and ignoring the negativity. Some of the F1 drivers had already chimed in—Carlos commented with a bunch of heart emojis, and Charles wrote, "About time mate!".

Lily's phone buzzed again with a message from Mia: "OMG, you guys are so cute!!! Finally!!!"

Lily couldn't help but laugh, showing the message to Lando. "Looks like Mia's excited."

Lando chuckled, leaning back on the couch. "Told you, everyone knew this was coming."

As the evening wore on, the initial shock of going public began to fade, replaced by a quiet sense of peace. They had made their choice, and even though they knew the media storm was about to hit, for now, they had each other.

And that was all that mattered.
