The morning was a whirlwind of excitement and nerves. Gemma was starting her first day of school, and the house was alive with activity. Lily was in the kitchen packing Gemma's lunch, making sure to include her favorite snacks—apple slices, crackers, and a small chocolate treat. Lando was helping Gemma tie her shoelaces, though it was proving to be more of a challenge than he'd anticipated.

"Daddy, it's not tight enough!" Gemma whined, her tiny foot wiggling in frustration.

"I'm doing my best, sweetheart," Lando chuckled, crouched on the floor. "These bunny ears are tricky, you know."

Lily appeared in the doorway, holding Gemma's pink backpack, decorated with stars and unicorns. "Lando, she's five, not an F1 car. You don't have to overthink it," she teased.

He grinned at her, finishing the bow. "There! Perfect. Ready to conquer your first day, Gem?"

Gemma nodded enthusiastically, her excitement bubbling over as she clutched her backpack and skipped to the front door. "I'm gonna make so many friends!"

The drive to the school was filled with chatter, Gemma asking a million questions about what school would be like. Lando and Lily reassured her that it would be fun and that her teacher, Miss Harper, was really nice.

When they arrived, the playground was bustling with other kids and parents. Gemma's eyes widened as she took it all in. Lando held her hand tightly, not quite ready to let go just yet.

"You'll be amazing, Gem," Lily said softly, kneeling to meet her daughter's gaze. "Be kind, have fun, and remember—Mommy and Daddy love you."

Gemma hugged her parents tightly before running off to join a group of kids playing on the swings. Lando and Lily watched her go, their hearts swelling with pride.

"She's growing up too fast," Lando said with a wistful sigh as they walked back to the car.

Lily slipped her arm around his. "I know. But it's also exciting to see her experience new things."

As they drove home, the house felt unusually quiet without Gemma's bubbly energy filling the space. Lando sank onto the couch, pulling Lily down beside him. "So, we've got the whole day to ourselves. What should we do?"

Lily raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at her lips. "Well, it's not every day we get alone time. We should make the most of it."

Lando's grin widened. "I like the sound of that."

He leaned in, his hand gently cupping her cheek as their lips met in a tender kiss. It was rare for them to have uninterrupted moments like this, and they intended to savor every second. The kiss deepened, and soon they were lost in each other, the world outside fading away.

Lily pulled back slightly, her cheeks flushed as she looked into Lando's sparkling blue eyes. "We should probably use this time to relax before the chaos returns," she whispered.

"Relaxing sounds good," Lando murmured, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "But I think I have a better idea."

They laughed together, the love and connection between them stronger than ever. It was moments like these that reminded them how lucky they were to have each other.
