It was Easter Sunday, and the house was buzzing with excitement as Lando's entire family had gathered for the holiday. The living room was filled with laughter and chatter as his parents, siblings, and some extended family members settled in. The scent of a hearty meal filled the air, mingling with the sweet aroma of freshly baked treats.
Lando and Lily were in the kitchen, preparing the finishing touches on the meal. Gemma was running around the house with her cousins, playing games and getting into the Easter spirit, her giggles echoing throughout the house.
Lily, her pregnant belly slightly more prominent now, was carefully arranging the final ingredients for the meal. She looked over at Lando, who was setting the table, and smiled. There was something special about today—being surrounded by family, celebrating together.
Lando caught her gaze and walked over to her, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Everything looks perfect," he murmured, his voice low.
Lily smiled up at him. "It's the least I can do with so many people here," she replied.
"I love you," Lando said, pulling her closer.
Without thinking, Lily leaned up to kiss him. Their lips met softly, and the world around them seemed to disappear for a moment. It was a kiss of reassurance, of love, and of comfort.
But, as Lando pulled away with a grin, they both heard a loud cough behind them. They turned to see Lando's older brother, Jake, and his sister, Emma, standing in the doorway, eyes wide.
"Uh, guys," Jake started, a teasing smile on his face, "should we come back later?"
Lily blushed, stepping back slightly. "We, um... didn't see you there."
Emma raised an eyebrow. "Seems like you two are getting pretty cozy."
Lando chuckled, shaking his head. "Can't a guy kiss his wife in peace?" he said, rolling his eyes. "It's Easter, for heaven's sake."
Jake grinned. "We're just messing with you, mate. It's cute. Don't worry."
Lily playfully nudged Lando. "I'll make sure to remember this the next time you try to embarrass me."
Lando wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close once more. "It's all in good fun," he said, his smile wide. "But we'd better get this dinner on the table before they start making fun of us more."
With a laugh, Emma chimed in, "You're right. Let's eat, before you two get too wrapped up in each other and forget."
As the family gathered around the table, the warmth of the room and the joy of being together made it feel like the perfect day. Lando sat next to Lily, their hands intertwined as they passed dishes of food around. Gemma was seated on Lando's lap, her eyes wide as she excitedly grabbed at the mashed potatoes.
"Gemma, sweetheart, take it easy," Lily said, chuckling as Gemma tried to load up her plate.
"She's just like her dad," Lando remarked with a smile. "Always hungry."
"I'll take that as a compliment," Gemma piped up, her voice full of innocence as she grinned.
Everyone laughed, and for a moment, it was as if the world was perfect. The conversation flowed easily—stories were shared, laughter echoed through the house, and there was no place Lando or Lily would rather be than here, with the people they loved.
The meal was a success, filled with hearty laughs and shared memories. Dessert was a delicious spread of Easter-themed treats—chocolate eggs, carrot cake, and even a homemade strawberry tart.
As the evening wore on, the kids ran around the house while the adults gathered in the living room, chatting and enjoying each other's company. Lando and Lily found themselves sitting on the couch, Gemma cuddled up beside them, her eyelids heavy with sleep.
Lily rested her head on Lando's shoulder, a smile tugging at her lips as she watched her family interact. "This is perfect," she whispered.
"It is," Lando agreed, his arm wrapping around her. "A perfect Easter, with my perfect family."
They sat in comfortable silence, surrounded by the warmth and love of those closest to them, knowing that no matter what life threw their way, moments like this made everything worthwhile.
