The morning sun filtered through the curtains as Lando sat at the kitchen table, sipping his coffee. The house was quiet, with Lily still fast asleep upstairs after their movie night. But today, Lando had a plan—he was going to visit his mum.

It had been a while since he'd spent some proper time with her. Between races, travel, and everything happening with Lily, his schedule barely left time for visits. But today was different. He wanted to catch up with his mum and fill her in on everything that had been going on in his life.

After getting ready and leaving a note for Lily, Lando grabbed his keys and headed out the door. The drive to his mum's house was familiar, and as soon as he pulled up in the driveway, memories of his childhood flooded his mind. This house held so much of his past, and it always felt good to come back.

He knocked on the door, and within moments, his mum appeared with a warm, welcoming smile. "Lando! It's so good to see you!" she exclaimed, pulling him into a tight hug.

"Mum!" Lando grinned, hugging her back. "I missed you."

She stepped back and looked him up and down. "You look tired but happy. Come inside, let's have a proper chat."

Lando followed her inside, the familiar coziness of the house greeting him as they made their way to the living room. His mum had already set out tea and biscuits, always anticipating his arrival.

"So," she began, pouring them both a cup of tea, "how's everything going? You've been all over the place lately."

Lando smiled as he took a biscuit. "It's been busy, but good. The races have been intense, but I'm really enjoying it. And things with Lily... well, it's going great."

His mum's eyes lit up at the mention of Lily. "I was just about to ask! How's she doing? You two seem so happy together."

"We are," Lando said, his voice softening. "She's incredible, Mum. Honestly, I don't know how I got so lucky."

His mum beamed, reaching over to squeeze his hand. "I'm so glad to hear that. You deserve to be happy, Lando."

They spent the next hour catching up on everything—from the latest F1 gossip to family updates. His mum always had a way of making him feel grounded, no matter how hectic life got. They laughed about old memories, talked about his next races, and shared stories about Lily's modeling career.

Eventually, Lando leaned back with a sigh. "It's nice to slow down and just talk like this. I miss it."

His mum smiled warmly. "You're always welcome here, you know that. No matter how busy you get."

"I know," Lando said, looking around the room that had once been his whole world. "And I promise I'll visit more often."

After a few more cups of tea and some more catching up, Lando knew it was time to head back. As he hugged his mum goodbye at the door, she smiled and said, "Don't be a stranger, Lando. And bring Lily next time!"

"I will, Mum. Thanks for everything," he replied, waving as he walked back to his car.

As Lando drove away, he felt a sense of peace wash over him. No matter how fast life moved, visits like this reminded him of where he came from, and that was something he'd never take for granted.
