madness/insanity & sleep

tipping the scales, which weighs our madness with our sanity

while squinting through plumes of darkness

to view seaward monsters, pink and purple on the ocean - fanged and dreadful

thrusting, thrusting,

as fables go, with all the children singing

in the dream realm in a daze

wondering how i came to be lying in someone else's home

they have all the stars & i'm fighting without the moon

still luminous and glaring out of my prosaic eye

holding & dreaming myself away

dreaming of moon soaked lilies

dripping into your eyes

petaled heads nodding around my couch

and the snake charmer's song,

lulling

always raining - PoetryWhere stories live. Discover now
