when the levees broke

i remember being wide eyed

always questioning, "what the cost"

when the levees broke

thrashing swells

swallowed us up real quick

this is the end of the road,

it seemed

troubled waters in his eyes, turning to whirlpools

All the time lost,

but always going windward

spouting out blood and water

everytime this goes

o death,

let the idiots wail

wallowing in the waves as they come in

remember when it got knee deep? i asked him

all i hear is the death rattle of spirits

suckling noises on the wrong ass side

holding eachother as the water breaks violently

then it looked at me

with its lustreless dead eyes

and dread naughts

"and only the seagulls will cry at your death,"

it said, chewing whale bones and spittle

and one day we shall

dance on their unstoned graves

just call me jonas,

only my bones cried

as i descended the maw of hell
