The picnic lasted until the sun left our view. The sunset made the sky a cotton candy pink, like a view out of a colorful childhood story book.
Its beautiful.
But what made the moment so special was how Nami's head dropped slowly onto your shoulder, the rest of the crew chatting it up and while staring at the same, beautiful view you were.
You smile.
Appreciating that you found them more than the moment itself. Appreciating that you finally had a home to return too.
Nami's hair smelled of a sweet citrus, soft and silky on your shoulder.
"She's sleeping", zoro says plainly, looking over at you before he yawned himself. "yeah I'm surprised, usually you're the one snoring by now", Zoros eyes turn into a scowl before he lays back on his hands and closes his eyes,"Then I better get to it."
"One more thing before you sleep", Zoro groans and looks over to you, waiting for you to continue "wheres the kid?", you ask as you look around "Sleeping.", he replies shortly and closes his eyes.
You sigh and roll your eyes at the vague response, pulling your eyes back to the view before a certain strawhat caught your eye, his black eyes seemed to turn a chocolate against the sun, his exterior was serious and dazed, like his thoughts were endless.
"He seems a bit troubled, hm?", your head instinctively follows the voice, Robin meeting you with her soft smile so instead of being embarassed that you were caught, you look back to him and nod. Letting your concern show in your gaze.
Her hand moves over your head, caressing it with care and reassurance, causing a warmth to stir within you.
You turn back to her, a smile displayed on your face as you sigh softly, "I always seem to do and say all the wrong things to him..", Robin catches the disappointment in your eyes, disappointment toward yourself.
"Y/n, stop holding back.",your eyes widen, taken aback by how she read you like an open book. You open your mouth to defend yourself but stop because her eyes were genuine and caring, there was no way you could deny it to her.
Her words did strike a cord, almost like a wake up call and a reminder of what caused you to be this way.
Your eyes are softer as they turn back to the strawhat, wearing into an apologetic look.
"Sanji, do you mind carrying Nami to bed?", Robin asks and Sanji immediately puts out his cigarette and lifts her gently and into his arms,"with absolute pleasure.", he smiles and walks away, sad to see her go when you felt the warmth that occupied your shoulder leave.
But you sigh and take the opportunity to get up and sit yourself down next to him, a safe distance apart still. Not even sure what to say but Robin's words made the interaction seem needed.
You look over at him, eyes widening slightly when you notice he was still unaware of your presence, his eyes glued to the suns last remaining moment of light.
"hey-"
"Y/n, you're moving around a lot for someone who has a broken rib", you flinch and shiver when you hear Choppers voice with a serious and almost eery tone.
But wait...
You inhale sharply and exhale heavily, your eyes widening further.
Whipping your body over to face Chopper, "It doesn't hurt anymore", Choppers fur-brows knit together in confusion, "Y/n thats medically impossible."
"Apparently not", you shrug and stretch your arms out to make sure, Chopper flinches, panicked and shouting for you to stop.
"I swear the pain is actually all gone.",Chopper blinks, not believing you for a second,"Maybe it's the pain tablets I gave you?", you shake your head.
