Chapter 1
One beautiful night, Odin, the All Father threw a grand ball in hopes that his two sons would find a suitable wife. He invited all of the eligible princesses and goddesses from all of the nine realms and even some that were outside the nine realms. Among those realms that was not within the nine realms was Olympus. Aphrodite, the goddess of love and her husband Hermes, the messenger of the gods brought their beautiful daughter to the ball in hope that either Thor or Loki would find her attractive and marry her. Upon arriving at the grand ball, Aphrodite and Hermes' daughter were greeted by everyone in the palace. Her innocence and beauty caught the eye of many at the ball. Even a certain God of Mischief, who couldn't tear his eyes away from her. Although everyone at the ball was exceptionally nice to her, her eyes fell onto the God of Mischief himself but with her being so shy she dare not speak to him. The young goddess asks her mother, "Mother, who is that?" Aphrodite looked to where her daughter was pointing, "Oh, that's Prince Loki, the youngest of the All Father's sons. Would you like to meet him, daughter?" The young goddess drops her head and shakes it, "N.....no mother. I was just curious." Aphrodite knew her daughter had taken a liken to the prince, so she decided to help things alone. She takes her daughter by the hand, "Come now daughter. Let's not be shy. This could be your chance to find love." So, Aphrodite takes her daughter over to Loki.
Loki sips on his mead as he watches as Aphrodite brings the young goddess over to him. His eyes flickering with delight. He was anxious to meet the young woman and was happy that Aphrodite was bringing her over to him. When Aphrodite gets to Loki, she greets him, "Prince Loki, I am Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and this is my daughter Serenity, the goddess of love and purity." Loki's eyes darted to the young goddess, who had her head down. Aphrodite noticed her daughter's stance and said, "You'll have to forgive my daughter Prince Loki. She's quite shy." Loki replies, "That's quite alright. I have a way of bringing shy girls out of their shells. I'm sure I can do the same with your daughter." Loki speaks to Serenity, "Hello there, I am Prince Loki, I'm honored to meet you." Serenity said with her eyes looking down, "It's nice to meet you, your highness." Loki notices how Serenity wouldn't make eye contact with him. So, he said, "Why don't you look at me Serenity. I would love to see your beautiful eyes." Loki puts his hand under her chin and raises her face up to meet his gaze. Once he had her head raised, he could see just how beautiful she was. She had the bluest of eyes, which contrasted perfectly with her red highlights in her brown hair. "You are very beautiful Serenity, too beautiful to be so shy." He paused for a moment then said, "Your eyes are as blue as the oceans. Someone could get lost in them and your hair is as if you are wearing a halo of fire. You're breathtaking, my dear." Serenity said, "Thank you, your majesty." Aphrodite watches from the sidelines as Loki tries to get Serenity out of her shyness. Then Loki asks Serenity, "Would you like to dance with me, Serenity?" Serenity said, "I can not dance, your majesty. I never learned how to." Loki said, "That's alright, I can teach you." Loki takes Serenity's hand and leads her to the dance floor. Serenity looks over her shoulder at her mother, who was waving her hand "go ahead". Aphrodite smiles as Loki leads Serenity to the dance floor. Aphrodite knew that all of her planning was beginning to come true, and she would soon have what she had been after for the longest........a piece of Asgard.
