The next day Kiyotaka and Hisoka got up to go meet back with the rest of the troupe, they got to sleep in since they weren't required to be there until around 1 in the afternoon. Upon walking into the base and taking a look around Uvogene was missing. Maybe he drank a little to much and couldn't properly wake up this morning. They didn't know what to expect when they walked into the base, but it wasn't a missing Uvogene and it certainly wasn't a chained up Killua and Gon at the center of it.
Gon upon seeing Kiyotaka walk into the base with Hisoka, was about to greet them, but Killua shut it down just in time. Feitan wasn't having it though "Kid. You know someone here, who is it?" "I don't-" "Don't lie, I may be a criminal but I'm not stupid." Feitan practically spat in Gon's face, making Killua tug at his chains in warning. Feitan only rolled his eyes before turning his back to the two. "So, who is it?" He asked the troupe while looking at Hisoka and Kiyotaka. Kiyotaka who was sitting criss-cross and lazily resting his elbow on his knee and his cheek on his palm. He yawned and stretched getting a few blushes. Who wouldn't seeing a waist like that. (Ch. 43 is you need a reminder of what he's wearing) Even Feitan had a little more color in his cheeks. "Well?!" He asked slightly flustered and impatiently. "Do you really need me to answer that. You said it yourself, you're not stupid. They didn't react until after we walked in the room. You already had your answer." "That's true, I guess the better question is -" "how? " Kiyotaka interrupted. "They also took part in the hunter exam with me and Hisoka."
The troupe was mildly impressed seeing as the kids were still alive. "Did they pass?" Nobunaga asked. "One of them did. Can you guess~" Hisoka answered this time. "Only one?" "Yup! And the other made it to the very last phase." Nobunaga seemed to think, so did sphinx. "The white haired kid had to have passed, theirs no way he fought like he did to get away from me without having passed." Hisoka smirked, "ohh- so close~" he teased. "What! The green haired kid passed but the other didn't? How?" Now it was Kiyotaka's turn. "He broke the rules~" The troupe was surprised when his answer wasn't completely monotone, they almost didn't ask the most important follow-up question. "And, what was that rule?" Feitan hissed, also slightly surprised by which boy passed and who didn't. "The one rule for the tournament style final phase of the hunter exam. No killing."
It took a minute for things to set in. "Are you saying this kid has already killed someone?" "Saw it with my own two eyes. It was quite beautiful~" Nobunaga cringed slightly, "The more time I'm around you, the more I realize why you and Hisoka get along so well. You're both a different kind of sick." "I wouldn't say that, you know Uvogene was like that too. Actually where is he?" Nobunaga got angry, fast. "How dare you! Do you know who killed him! Did you have something to do with it?!" Kiyotaka let out a lone, smile-less chuckle "No, I only noticed he wasn't in the room. He's dead though? That's quite the feat, but not something these two could have pulled off." Feitan rolled his eyes. "We know that, but they might know who did, especially considering they were following us this morning."
This was interesting. "What do you know about Uvogene's attacker?" Nobunaga was a bit torn about telling Kiyotaka anything, but ultimately decided to. "We know that he used chains." "Is that all?" "Yeah, then these kids showed up this morning following us, trying to be all sneaky." Kiyotaka knew that wasn't everything, but with that information, he knew Kurapika was the chain user. He wouldn't tell them that though. "So did the kids know anything?" "No they didn't, Pakunoda didn't see anything in their memories. Do you know anything?" Nobunaga figured asking was futile, but his gut told him to anyway, so he did. "I might actually." The troupe looked at him expectantly, "There was someone at the exam that hated spiders because they killed his family, but the look in their eyes said it was more then just the arachnid. By spiders he meant the phantom troupe. Though it won't be much help because I don't remember what he looked like, other then the fact that he had red eyes." Nobunaga was not happy "That was practically useless!" He yelled at Kiyotaka. "At least that's something to go off of, there aren't many people with red eyes, we just have to keep an eye out." "Ugh fine!" Nobunaga said about to storm off.
That was when he got an idea. "What if we get the kids to join us?" "What the hell are you talking about?" Machi loudly asked. "We are not bringing on some kids for us to babysit." "We won't babysit them. Didn't you hear? They passed the Hunter exam!" "No only one of them did." "Only because the other one killed somebody! They clearly aren't your typical kids! At least just ask."
They didn't even have to because Gon broke his chains, stood up and made it very clear he had zero intentions of joining them. Killua just sighed and broke his chains as well, clearly done with the whole situation. "Then we can't let you leave!" Nobunaga said. "At least not until we catch the chain user." "You can't! We're meeting our friends in two days!" Gon protested. "Well that's too bad" Nobunaga taunted.
"Except it's not." Kiyotaka spoke up. "Come here you two." Without any protest the two walked over to him. Kiyotaka wrapped his arms around the boys like a cat protecting his litter. "They're going to walk out of here, and you're going to let them." "That's bull! You think we're gonna just let them walk out of here! No chance!" Again it was Nobunaga who protested, but the rest were thinking the same thing. Those boys were not allowed to leave.
