Chapter twenty-three: If it's forever, it's even better.

Billie's Pov

It's been a week since I've told my dad I wanted to propose to Halley. It's been hell trying to keep it a secret I'm pretty sure Halley has picked up on something thankfully she hasn't quite figured it out yet. I had woken up before her deciding to make us some breakfast before I met my dad at the house.

Carefully untangling myself from the sleeping brunette I slipped on some shorts making my way to the kitchen to get started.

I was about halfway done cooking when I saw Halley sleepily making her way towards me, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. groaning when she hit her shoulder on the doorframe of the kitchen door with a loud thud.

"Ow." She pouted rubbing her shoulder.

"Oh, baby girl." I giggled wrapping her up in a hug rubbing her shoulder. "that really hurt." She leaned her head on my shoulder.

"I know baby next time maybe don't walk and rub both of your eyes at the same time." i laughed lightly earning a small punch to the shoulder.

"Hey! I was just giving you advice." she stuck her tongue out at me sitting down at the island while I resumed cooking.

"What are you doing up so early?" she asked grabbing a vine full of grapes we had sitting out on the counter.

"Well, I have a couple of things to do today I just figured I'd be nice and cook you some breakfast before I leave."

"Can I come?"

"Uh not today baby I'm sorry."

"Is it for work?" She asked eyebrows furrowed questioningly.

"Uh yeah, yeah it's uh work related." I could tell she didn't really believe that statement but decided to let it go probably too tired to ask more questions. I hated lying to her I just didn't want her to know I was ring shopping for her.

"Zoe called this morning she wants to take you out for lunch Claudia's gonna tag along too so you won't be bored at home by yourself my love." Grabbing a plate stacking a few of her favorite pancakes I slid it in front of her.

"Oohh chocolate chip pancakes? What's the special occasion?" She smiled taking a bite of her food.

"Nothing special just cause I love you." I smiled back kissing her.

"Mm chocolate gimmie more." I puckered my lips out she laughed pecking my lips a couple of more times.

"Baby! Zoe's waiting for you outside!" I yelled out.

"Coming!" She yelled back. she came out stumbling one hand on the wall as the other put her shoe on.

"Ready." she breathed out smiling once she got to me. I laughed taking her hand to walk her out to the car.

"You have fun baby take your time enjoy yourself, okay?" I said closing the door after she had gotten in. "I'll see you in a couple of hours." she nodded kissing me. I backed away nodding at Zoe as she did the same knowingly then they took off.

"Alright here we go." I said excitedly to myself getting into my car.

My dad and I arrived at the store I was kind of feeling nervous about the whole thing but mostly excited, hoping she'll love the ring I'll pick out for her.

The store clerk greeted us once we walked in.

"Hi welcome my name's Bianca can i help you with anything today?" She asked hands clasped in front of her.

So proper, this is Tiffany's anyways.

"Yes, actually I'm looking for engagement rings."

"Oh of course! let me show you to them." she led us to the glass case lit up by many bright white LED lights my eyes were in awe the way the sparkled so beautifully. I looked at them carefully and in detail trying to imagine what ring would look best on her.
