A couple of days have gone by since Halley's woken up and I've been here since. going back and forth from here to the house.
Halley's doing a little better of course having to have physical therapy to get her muscles moving since she's been bedridden for almost a month. She's struggling but she's determined to go back home.
She has her days however, where she feels like she wants to give up, there's been countless times where I've held her in my arms as she cried because she's felt so hopeless.
"I just want to go back home." She would cry.
I've never felt so frustrated in my life.
Simply because there was nothing I can do but be there to encourage and support her.
That's why today, I brought her a little something to cheer her up.
Pulling into my usual parking spot I grabbed the bouquet of flowers and a gift bag from the passenger's seat making my way to her room floor.
As usual I greeted her nurse before heading inside to Halley's room.
There she was beautiful as ever, sitting up having her lunch for the day. She looked up smiling at me as I walked in.
"Hello there my love." I smiled.
"You spoil me way too much." she gave a chuckle, watching as I replaced the old flowers with the new ones. I hummed walking up to her pecking her lips a couple of times.
"Never enough my love." I mumbled on her lips. kissing her once more before I then turned my head to see if she's eaten her lunch. but was disappointed when I seen something on her tray, I've been fighting the other nurses and cafeteria staff on.
"They did it again didn't they?"
"Yup." She said popping the 'p' I sighed moving the tray from her bed.
Halley was never a fan of oranges or orange flavored anything. but yet every single time they always either brought her orange slices, orange juice or orange Jello. which is the worst combo for her because she hates Jello also.
"Don't worry baby I'll take care of it. even if I have to bring you apple flavored anything. I will."
"That's going too far, Bil." she laughed scooting over on the bed as I climbed on.
"Hey never underestimate the things I'd do for you."
I then handed her the gift bag I brought. She smiled at me before taking out the tissue paper and the content in it. Pulling out a small stuffed animal and then a small black box. she looked up at me confused.
"Open it love." I encouraged.
Doing as I said she opened it revealing the shiny bright ring.
After the crash her ring of course got covered in blood and such, I kept it around my neck so I could feel at least a little closer to her while she was out for those weeks. But now that she's awake and doing better I decided to take it to get professionally cleaned for her. knowing how much she missed it.
Her smile grew bigger as she slipped it on her finger.
"Oh, thank you sweetface!" She said excitedly hugging me tightly.
"It felt so weird not having it there." She said as she admired the rings on her finger.
"Now it's back in its rightful place." I smiled.
she brought her hands up to cup my face, kissing my lips a couple of times.
"You're so amazing you know that?" I chuckled kissing her once more.
