On the way back to Izana's penthouse..

Third Person's POV

Izana's knuckles were tight on the steering wheel, his gaze fixated on the road ahead. The hum of the engine was the only sound that broke the thick silence in the car. It was eerie, suffocating even. Kana sat rigidly in the backseat, her posture uncharacteristically tense. Beside her, Sakura, fidgeted with the hem of her skirt, exchanging nervous glances with Kana.

Izana hadn't spoken a word since they got in the car, his usual cool composure replaced with a cold stillness that made Kana's stomach twist.

Izana's foot pressed a little harder on the gas, and the car sped up. The lights of the street flickered past the windows, creating fleeting shadows that danced across his sharp features. Though his face was blank, there was a storm brewing beneath the surface-something dark, dangerous.

As the car made a sharp turn, Kana's fingers dug into the seat, her heart pounding in her chest. She caught Sakura's eyes again, and this time, Sakura's hand reached out, her fingers trembling slightly as they wrapped around Kana's. It was a small comfort, but in that moment, it felt like a lifeline.

Izana's eyes flicked briefly to the rearview mirror, catching Kana's gaze for just a second. His eyes were unreadable, dark pools of something she couldn't place, and it made her heart race even faster. The connection broke as quickly as it had happened, his gaze returning to the road.

At last, they arrived at their destination. Izana silently got out, then opened the door for the teenage girls. "Out of the car. Now." He said, leaving no room for objection. The girls followed his order, then tailed behind him as they made ways to the elevator. They headed to the floor where the Kurokawas lived.

As soon as the front door opened, the soft click of the lock releasing echoed through the penthouse, and (Y/n), who had been anxiously pacing the living room, shot up from the couch. The tension she hadn't realized she'd been carrying dropped slightly at the sight of them returning. She rushed to the entrance, her heart fluttering with relief.

"Kana, Sakura!" she called out warmly as she reached them, her arms open wide, moving instinctively toward her daughter first. Kana tensed up in her mother's embrace.

"I'm glad you both are fine. Dear God, where did you two go off to..? I told you not to go far." (Y/n) sobbed, then hugged Sakura too. She couldn't imagine anything happening to the girls. How could she explain to Sakura's mothers, had that something terrible occur to their daughter?

But her relief was short-lived as her gaze flickered to Izana, standing stiffly by the door. His frame loomed in the doorway, his expression unreadable, cold. The usual smirk he wore when he entered the room with that effortless charm was gone. (Y/n)'s stomach tightened at the sight, an uneasy feeling creeping into her chest.

"Izana... is everything okay?" she asked softly, her voice filled with concern.

Her heart raced as Izana's lips suddenly brushed her cheek, the soft warmth of his kiss contrasting sharply with the cold silence he'd carried moments before.
