Third Person's POV

In the week following Izana's departure, a chill settled into the penthouse, filling it with an unspoken tension. The lively energy Kana once brought had dimmed, and Izana's usual presence was conspicuously absent. Though he returned every day, he and Kana became like passing shadows in their own home, each avoiding the other. (Y/n) found herself caught in the middle, trying to bridge the gap between them, but every attempt only seemed to make her feel the their silence more.

Izana began to look worn. The decision to leave Kana alone had been his own, but it left him in a perpetual state of inner conflict. He felt like a stranger in his own home, constantly second-guessing whether he should try to approach Kana or give her more space.

Meanwhile, Kana kept her guard up, casting only quick, fleeting glances at her father from behind closed doors. Beneath her resentment was a hurt she didn't know how to express, a longing she tried to bury. Though she acted indifferent, there was a subtle change in her demeanor. At school, she grew quieter, and even her friends aside from Sakura began to notice a distant look in her eyes.

Even Sakura couldn't get through Kana, as she was also struggling with her own problem right now..

The warm aroma of spices and simmering sauces filled the kitchen as (Y/n) moved from the stovetop to the counter, humming a little tune to herself. She was so absorbed in cooking that she didn't hear the bathroom door open, nor did she notice the soft padding of Izana's footsteps behind her.

Just as she lifted a spoon to taste the sauce, two arms slid around her waist, pulling her gently into a familiar embrace. She felt the light pressure of his cheek against hers, and a smile tugged at her lips as Izana pressed a kiss to her skin.

"Mm," he murmured. "Smells good."

She laughed, giving him a gentle nudge with her elbow. "Dinner won't be served if you keep latching onto me like this."

He chuckled softly, tightening his hold just a little. "Then how about you be my dinner?"

(Y/n) shook her head, biting back a smile as she stirred the pot, feeling the warmth of his body and his breath against her neck. "Well, if you're that hungry, I suppose I could let you taste something early..."

Izana's eyes lit up with a mischievous glint as he placed another kiss on her cheek. "Careful with those offers," he whispered. "I just might take you up on it."

Izana lingered for a moment longer, a smirk playing on his lips as he pressed one last kiss to her cheek before finally letting go. He stretched his arms above his head, looking relaxed but still watching her with that same mischievous glint.

Even though things were tense between his daughter and him, (Y/n) still treated him the same way. He speculated Kakucho never disclosed the entire truth to her.
