After a while...
Izana remained still, his arms instinctively tightened around Kana's frame, his chin resting atop her head. Kana had never hugged him like this before. But now, she clung to him.
His eyes flickered toward the others, who were overseeing the cleanup. Bloodstains were being scrubbed away, and the remains of F/n were being dragged off to a waiting vehicle. None of them paid much attention to him and Kana, though Ran did glance before abruptly looking away with a smile.
Izana ignored them, his focus returning to the girl in his arms. He ran a hand through her hair, something he'd seen Y/n do countless times whenever Kana was upset.
"You did good, inday... It's alright. What you did today was right." he repeated his earlier words. "Be proud of yourself."
Kana only sobbed harder, her fingers gripping the fabric of his shirt. Izana sighed, resting his cheek against her head.
"Alright, alright," he muttered. "You're making my shirt all gross, inday."
Kana hiccupped between her sobs, her voice muffled against his chest. "Sh-shut up..."
Izana chuckled lightly. "There she is. I was starting to think you'd gone soft on me."
Kana weakly smacked his arm, but there was no real force behind it.
"You tired?"
She nodded against him.
"Figures." He shifted, adjusting her so she was more comfortable.
Izana's gaze swept over Yasuhiro, Kanji, Ran, Rindou, and Shion, and he recalled something he had nearly forgotten; his promise to Y/n. His fingers absentmindedly ran through Kana's tangled hair as he considered the idea.
He made up his mind.
"Wanna have a sushi feast today?" he asked. Kana, still emotionally drained, blinked up at him, confused. She had no idea what the hell he was planning, but after all the screaming, crying, and beating a man half to death, or sending him to actual Death itself, her stomach felt like an empty pit.
"...Fine with me," she agreed. "But don't get the cheap shit."
Izana huffed a small laugh, amused by her bluntness. Without another word, he stood, effortlessly lifting Kana up with him before setting her back on her feet. He turned to his five executives.
"Oi," Izana called, his voice echoing through the warehouse. The five men looked up from the ongoing cleanup. Izana stuffed his hands into his pockets. "Let's go. We're going to my place."
Silence.
The five of them exchanged wary glances, their collective scepticism nearly tangible.
"...Hah?" Ran was the first to react, his brows raised high in disbelief. "The hell's up with you all of a sudden?"
