Nighttime,
(Y/n)'s hostess club...

Third Person's POV

The evening sun casted its warm glow into a room belonged to a girl in her early teenage years. (Y/n) carefully folded each garment, one by one, into a duffle bag. Kana, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, hovered nearby, eagerly waiting to embark on her sleepover adventure.

With each item packed, a burst of giggles escaped the 12 years old girl's lips, her excitement palpable in the air. (Y/n) couldn't help but smiled, her heart swelling with love as she prepared her daughter for this special moment of independence and friendship.

"You look more excited than usual, Kana. Anything special planned tonight?"

"Sacchan's mother rented that movie we have ALWAYS wanted to watch!"

"Oh? What genre?"

"Horror!"

"Horror again?"

"Psychological horror this time."

"Don't think it's too explicit for you?"

"I'll be fine, Mom. Not sure about Sacchan though."

"I hope you enjoy it." (Y/n) chuckled before stuffing in the last garment she folded for Kana. The young girl sealed the duffle bag, her fingers tracing the path along the zipper with a sense of accomplishment. "I will, Mom!"

The excitement of the impending sleepover settled, and Kana nestled beside (Y/n), resting her head gently on her mother's lap. With a gentle stroke, (Y/n) traced circles on her daughter's back. "What's wrong?"

"Aren't you glad, Mom?" Kana posed a question, its complexity momentarily puzzling (Y/n). With furrowed brows, the hostess club owner took her time, thinking deeply to decipher the meaning behind her daughter's inquiry.

"That guy didn't continue bothering us."

As comprehension dawned upon her, (Y/n) tensed up, her eyes widening slightly in recognition of Kana's inquiry. A brief moment of silence enveloped them.

"Looks like he doesn't actually love you. I guess him realizing he has a brat to take care of turns him off. Good thing he calls it a quit, though! That guy had the nerve to cause such a scene when he couldn't even show any efforts. Not that I wanted him to do so. It's mind-blowing how he easily gives up." Kana seated up, her grin growing wider. "He is indeed a disappointment."

(Y/n)'s heart sank, grappling with the complex emotions stirred by Kana's words. Kana suddenly hooked her arms with (Y/n)'s, a sense of protectiveness taking over her. "But you don't have to worry, Mom! You don't need him in your life because you already have me. I'll keep you safe from him, I promise. So you better tell me if he somehow tries to disturb you again."
