"Hey, A'Sang, what brings you to our humble abode?" Wei Wuxian greeted his junior from college. Nie Huissang was known as a party animal all throughout his college life. Finding him in a sedate bar, drinking rum with middle aged office goers was a disturbing sight.
"It's not what. It's who? We've been dating," Huissang informed him.
"We, who's we?" Wei Wuxian asked in confusion.
"He means me," Wen Ning replied.
"Wah... when did that happen? And why don't I know that you are gay?" Wei Wuxian asked his closest friend.
"You know Qing Jie. How she gets... I didn't want her to know but Huissang proposed in front of her and she was speechless and supportive and well... we have been dating for a few months now," he admitted turning beet red.
"Woah, you need to treat me," Wei Wuxian demanded.
"Of course, of course," Wen Ning promised with a wide grin. He jumped behind the bar to mix a drink himself. "Slow down. You're out of practice," Wei Wuxian reminded. Wen Ning had started as a bartender in this very place, back when he was supposed to be in college. Wen Qing, his older sister was doing her internship in a hospital and was unable to provide tuition. He proposed to take a sabbatical and save some money by working here. A year later, when their grandfather passed away, he bought the bar with his inheritance and changed it from a seedy joint to a high-class drinking hub. Now he hires bartenders and waiters while his sister is the head of cardiology at Beijing hospital.
"Ningning loves mixing drinks. He'll never be out of practice. It's like you and computers," Nie Huissang exclaimed fondly.
Wei Wuxian smiled. He was genuinely happy for his friends. His eyes crinkled and shined, reflecting his joy. Nie Huissang felt shy and took out a paper fan to hide his face. He always carried one and painted many.
"Xian ge, look at that handsome stud. He looks so out of place in this joint. Do you think he's a movie star or something?" Nie Huissang asked after some time.
Wei Wuxian was engrossed in seeing Wen Ning work his magic. So he was startled by Nie Huissang. "Who are you talking about?" he asked.
Nie Huissang pointed him to a far corner and what he saw made his jaw drop. Lan Wangji was drinking in a bar!
Wei Wuxian strode to where Lan Wangji was sitting. "Ge, your drink," Wen Ning called out.
Wei Wuxian took it from Wen Ning and gulped it down, "Blah, that's too strong!" he said before turning around to find Wangji.
Meanwhile Xue Yang was having a difficulty with a drunk Lan Wangji. Drunk Wangji did not look drunk or act drunk. He simply acted irrational.
"Why can't I touch my nose with my toe? I have long enough feet," Lan Wangji stated.
"But the pelvic joint doesn't hinge that way," Xue Yang argued.
"But it should. I can touch my nose to my knee, so why not my toe?" Lan Wangji asked again.
"What's happening here? Are you stalking me?" Wei Wuxian demanded.
"Ah, my cute bunny is here," Lan Wangji exclaimed.
"What did you call me?" Wei Wuxian fumed.
"Cute Bunny. If Xuanyu is little bunny, you are cute bunny," Lan Wangji concluded.
"Is he drunk? Is he one of those sober drunks that don't look like they are drunk but are actually sloshed?" Wei Wuxian asked Xue Yang.
"Absolutely. But he only had a couple of glasses of scotch," Xue Yang informed.
