Xue Yang smirked as he ended the call, gripping the wheel tighter as he tailed the Maserati. "Alright, now for the real fun." He reached beneath his seat, pulling out a steel crowbar, and tossed it into the passenger seat with a gleeful laugh.
Wei Wuxian's voice came through their comms. "Yang! What are you doing back there?"
"Just preparing for a little chaos," Xue Yang replied nonchalantly. His eyes narrowed as he assessed the road ahead. A slight incline, sharp bends—perfect for his plan.
Up ahead, Wei Wuxian wrestled with the Maserati's wheel, sweat dripping down his temple as he attempted to maintain control. "What's your brilliant idea, then?"
Xue Yang's car suddenly sped up, veering into the emergency lane. "Distract him for another minute. I'm going to take the lead."
"Yang, no!" Wei Wuxian shouted, but Xue Yang was already a blur of motion.

Meanwhile, Lan Wangji's sleek black car tore through the expressway. His face remained calm, though his knuckles were white against the wheel. Xiao Xingchen sat beside him, his hands tightly gripping his seatbelt.
"They're up ahead," Lan Wangji said quietly, his sharp eyes catching the flicker of hazard lights in the distance.
Xiao Xingchen nodded. "I'll get ready to assist once we close the distance."
"Be prepared," Lan Wangji replied.

Xue Yang's car roared ahead, cutting in front of the Maserati. He adjusted his position, leaning halfway out of his window, crowbar in hand. "Alright, A-Ying, keep him straight for ten seconds!"
Wei Wuxian's voice came through, exasperated. "If you get yourself killed, I'll bring you back just to kill you again!"
"Love you too!" Xue Yang called, laughing.
The cars aligned briefly, and Xue Yang swung the crowbar with calculated precision. Sparks flew as it struck the Maserati's rear fender. The metal screeched, but Xue Yang grinned triumphantly.
"There we go," he muttered, maneuvering closer for another strike.
"What are you doing?!" Jin Zixuan screamed from the passenger seat.
"Fixing this mess," Xue Yang answered as if it were the simplest thing in the world.
He swung again, the impact dislodging part of the brake system. The Maserati wobbled violently, but Wei Wuxian managed to regain control.
"Hold steady!" Xue Yang shouted, angling his car to block the Maserati's path. "Lan Wangji, now would be a great time to swoop in with your knight-in-shining-armor routine!"

Lan Wangji's car appeared in the rearview mirror like a shadow, sleek and commanding. In a single fluid motion, he overtook Xue Yang and pulled up alongside the Maserati.
"Prepare to transfer!" Lan Wangji barked over the comms.
Wei Wuxian nodded, though Lan Wangji couldn't see him. "Zixuan, you're going with him. Don't argue!"
"I—what?" Jin Zixuan stammered.
Before he could protest further, Xiao Xingchen leaned out of Lan Wangji's car, extending his hand toward the Maserati.
"Jin Zixuan, climb over! I've got you!" Xiao Xingchen called, his calm voice cutting through the chaos.
With Wei Wuxian barking instructions and Xue Yang blocking traffic from behind, Jin Zixuan hesitated for only a second before reaching for Xiao Xingchen's hand.
