“It‘s done. The notice to the Jiangs has been sent. Jiang Yanli acted as expected. Instead of supressing the report she publicised it along with footage of the first video game launch by Jiang Software, spearheaded by Wei Wuxian. The internet is abuzz with people denouncing the Jiangs. Their shares have been seriously affected. Do you want Y-Tech to buy them out?” Xue Yang asked, entering Lan Wangji’s office on Monday.
Lan Wangji did not reply but was lost in thought. Xue Yang went forward and waved his hand before Lan Wangji‘s face. “What are you thinking?” Xue Yang asked.
“Wei Wuxian has someone he loves,” Lan Wangji informed him.
“Ah well, then it‘s a good thing that you’re a contractual couple who is going to end the contract in three months,” Xue Yang reminded.
Lan Wangji shook his head. “I like him at my home. I asked him to stay after the contract is over,” he confessed.
“What? Why?” Xue Yang was puzzled.
“Mo Xuanyu is married. I don’t have to wait for him anymore. I can be happy too,” Lan Wangji confessed.
“Is that why you never had a relationship before? Couldn‘t you be happy with him?” Xue Yang asked.
Lan Wangji shook his head. ”Never. If Mo Xuanyu and I were living together I would always be worried thinking that what if my touch, my voice, my action, triggered some past memory. What if he remembers me and does something. What if he realizes that I am not Lan Wangji but Lan Zhan, his Lan Zhan… No. I preferred waiting at the sideline. Mianmian’s arrival pushed me, but Wei Wuxian, well that was fate. This way I get to disarm Xiongzheng, calm Mianmian, be honest to Wei Wuxian and still gain a partner beside me, one I can be proud of,“ Lan Wangji confessed.
“Now are you happy?“ Xue Yang asked, a bit puzzled with what his friend was saying.
“I am content. Wei Wuxian made me a home and I love our banter and the sex is out of the world,” Lan Wangji recalled.
“Yes, Dr. Luo mentioned that,” Xue Yang snickered.
“Wait, you know Mianmian?” Lan Wangji asked a bit puzzled.
“She is currently crashing at Wen Qing‘s place because her brother-in-laws are busy fucking like rabbits. Wen Qing is the Chief of Cardiology at Beijing Hospital and sort of my sugar mommy,” Xue Yang explained.
“You’re the CEO of Y-Tech and my personal assistant. Why do you need a sugar mommy?” Lan Wangji demanded.
“Well, I meant that in the literal sense. She gives me candies or rather I should say she makes me handcrafted designer sugar candy for everytime I make her orgasm and she is extremely talented and unsatiable in bed,” Xue Yang said, smiling and wiggling his brows.
“One of these days you‘ll find the person you are content with and these mommys and daddys will come to bite you in the butt,” Lan Wangji warned.
“Oh, my, Lan Zhan the romantic, who knew, maybe perhaps your Ying‘er but you had to settle with Wei Wuxian. Have you asked him why he isn’t with the one he loves?“ Xue Yang asked.
“He is a homophobic Lan from Cloud Recess who gave him enough heartache to trigger a fever induced amnesia. He only remembers him in dreams and nightmares,” Lan Wangji confessed.
“Cloud Recess, why does that sound familiar?” Xue Yang tried to recall.
“It‘s where I grew up. It’s the place I left because of Ying‘er,” Lan Wangji reminded.
“If you hadn’t left may be you two could have met earlier,” Xue Yang suggested. “You could be his Lan,” he purred.
“I am glad that I met him now. I have no one to compete and I am more comfortable facing my own actions of the past. I don’t think Wei Wuxian would have liked Lan Zhan. I am happy to be his Ji Ge,” Lan Wangji explained.
“Well, if it were me I would prefer to be my partner‘s first in everything,” Xue Yang stated.
“Isn’t it hypocritical- if you can‘t give your firsts to someone, why take theirs?” Lan Wangji asked.
“You’re one to talk,“ Xue Yang teased.
Lan Wangji smirked and nodded. He took out his phone and called his partner updating him about the Jiangs.
Wei Wuxian was at the Wens. He was bored and out of work. He sat with Wen Ning infront of a large screen, playing the video game they had been competing in recently. Not many knew that apart from designing softwares the one other thing that Wei Wuxian had been always good at was Video Games. In fact one of his major sources of income in college was as a professional video game player.
“Jiangs are already suffering the consequences of depriving me my due. Their shares have dropped and Y-Tech is buying them out,” Wei Wuxian relayed to his best friend.
“Aren‘t some of those shares yours?” Wen Ning asked.
“Yup, but I don’t care owning shares in the Jiang group. If Y-Tech buys the shares I can ask for monetary compensation and start my own company with whatever I get. Already Hanguangjun has promised to help me set up my own business,” Wei Wuxian explained.
“You really trust him, don‘t you?” Wen Ning asked.
“I am scared,” Wei Wuxian confessed.
“Why, Ying Ge? You’re the bravest person I know,” Wen Ning comforted.
“Yesterday morning I had the nightmare again. Ji ge couldn’t wake me up but he still comforted me, so much so that the faceless boy took on a face and it was a younger version of Ji ge and he was scolding me, turning away from me and then he turned back and started kissing me, touching me, we were under a shower and he made me cum and then I woke up and found Ji ge making love to me. I am confused of what is real and what is a dream. Did I cross a line with Lan er Gege? Is that why he hated me? Or was it Ji ge‘s love and care that’s spilling over into my dreams? Am I affected by the fact that he is a Lan? Am I substituting him for my Lan er Gege as he is substituting me for his bunny?” Wei Wuxian wondered out loud.
“Do you have feeling for Lan Wangji?” Wen Ning asked.
Wei Wuxian looked to his best friend, a frightened look in his face. “I‘m afraid that I do but we’re just friends with benefits. What if he finds out?”
