"I don't want a designer ring. A plain gold band one will do fine by me. You can tell your sister-in-law that I have simple tastes, which is true," Wei Wuxian insisted once they boarded the car.
"Why didn't you say that earlier?" Lan Wangji asked in confusion.
"I wanted to show off before my ex. Is that a crime?"Wei Wuxian asked.
"I'll get you both. You wear what you like," Lan Wangji stated flatly.
"But according to the revised contract..." Wei Wuxian began.
"Party B is not obligated to keep the possessions bestowed by Party A on him during the duration of the contract and may dispose of them at will once the contract is terminated," Lan Wangji quoted.
"But.... That's not what I said," Wei Wuxian tried to recall what his terms were.
"You wanted to return the stuff I may buy for you. I included that provision in the contract," Lan Wangji pointed out.
"I didn't want the stuff to begin with," Wei Wuxian defended.
"Too bad that the contract is already signed," Lan Wangji deadpanned.
"Your assistant is right. You are evil," Wei Wuxian exclaimed.
"Speaking of assistant, Xue Yang already picked up our rings. We can go home," Lan Wangji informed.
"Fine with me. I think the painkillers are wearing off," Wei Wuxian winced as his back started to cause him trouble.
"Wait, Mianmian is calling," Lan Wangji interrupted. He held his phone high and plastered a fake smile. A woman's face filled the screen.
"Dr. Luo, to what do I owe the pleasure of this call?" He asked.
"Does your bunny like perfumes or chocolates? I'm thinking of an ideal gift for my hostess," she fidgetted.
"Hostess?" Lan Wangji frowned.
"Yes, the hospital couldn't provide me a room to stay since I stated that I have relatives in the city. So, I'll be crashing in your guest room for the next ten weeks," Mianmian informed. "So, what does your not-wife like?"
"Umm.... Umm, I don't..." Lan Wangji was about to say that he doesn't know but Wei Wuxian interrupted.
"He'll get skinned alive if he tells me that I shouldn't have as much chocolate as I generally do because it can make me fat," Wei Wuxian joked, reaching out for the phone and changing the camera angle to face him.
"You're his bunny?" Mianmian exclaimed.
"I don't know about that, but we got our certificates today. So, if anyone is playing hostess it would be me," Wei Wuxian joked.
"I like you. If I weren't in love with Wangji's brother since forever I'd flirt with you,"Mianmian retorted.
"And if I weren't head over heels with Ji ge I would definitely flirt back. You're gorgeous," Wei Wuxian complimented.
"Oh, I'll see you then. Looking forward to being housemates," Dr Luo greeted before disconnecting the call.
As the screen turned blank Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji turned ti each other, smile all gone. "Big trouble," they stated at the same time.
As soon as they reached the apartment Lan Wangji headed for Wei Wuxian's room. "What are you doing in my room?" Wei Wuxian fumed.
"Helping you move to my room," Lan Wangji noted.
"Calm down. Firstly, I don't have anything in your guestroom yet. My stuffs are probably all at Wen Ning's bar. I already sent him a message to find my luggage and keep it safe. Secondly, Mianmian isn't coming till Saturday. It is only Tuesday. We have time to arrange things," Wei Wuxian stated coolly.
