When Wei Wuxian woke up on Saturday morning there was a dull ache in his body. His hip was behaving naturally but he was having trouble sleeping. Lan Wangji kept his word. He came inside him several times the previous night and the night before. He wrapped a robe around him, not bothering with a shirt or a short as he was headed to take a bath. When he managed to stand, cum dripped down his leg and he groaned. Lan Wangji was a clean freak, but he preferred to leave him smeared with his cum.
"Why are you getting up so early? It's a weekend," Lan Wangji reminded.
"I have to tidy the house. Your sister-in-law is arriving this afternoon," Wei Wuxian reminded.
Lan Wangji sat up. "Mianmian is coming today. How could I forget?" he wondered.
"You were busy with other activities," Wei Wuxian teased.
Lan Wangji narrowed his eyes before pouncing on his partner and kissing him.
"I need to clean myself up first," Wei Wuxian insisted.
"We'll shower together," Lan Wangji stated, pulling them towards the washroom.
By noon they had both had an early lunch and were headed to the airport. They arrived just in time as the announcements declared the flight from Suzhou.
"You have relatives in Suzhou?" Wei Wuxian asked, betraying a nervousness he had not shown before.
"Why does that make you nervous?" Lan Wangji asked.
"There's a settlement in Suzhou dedicated to the Lan family- the Cloud Recesses. It's known for extremely accomplished people and very proud people. I wondered if you hail from there. You're a Lan and you are definitely very accomplished," he responded.
"I have nothing to do with Cloud Recesses. Mianmian works in the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow. She and her husband reside near it. My brother too is a doctor there. I do have relatives in Cloud Recesses, all estranged. Mianmian and I were classmates, before she married my brother. I am closer to her than my brother now," Lan Wangji clarified.
Wei Wuxian sighed in relief, but Lan Wangji frowned. What is his history with Cloud Recesses, he wondered.
When Mianmian came to the reception area Lan Wangji spotted her immediately and raised his hands and waved. "Wangji", she screamed out and rushed forward.
"How was your flight?" Lan Wangji asked her once they had finished hugging.
Wei Wuxian stood to the side, noticing the unusual behavior between in-laws. "You must be his bunny," Mianmian said, turning to him.
Wei Wuxian smiled and nodded. It was a lie he had signed up for. "The name is Wei Wuxian, sister-in-law," he greeted.
"Oh, please call me Mianmian. Wangji does. My name is actually Luo Qingyang but ever since Wangji found out my childhood name he calls me by it," she explained.
"Wait, Luo Qingyang? Are you any relation to Luo Yangyang?" Wei Wuxian asked.
Mianmian was taken aback. She nodded. "She is my meimei. However, when my parents divorced, she went with her mother, and I stayed back with my father. We have lost touch since," she replied.
"Ah, I only mentioned it because you have a strong resemblance, and both of your first names are Luo. Yangyang is a close friend of mine. Perhaps I can introduce you if you like," he offered.
"Oh, how wonderful. I never imagined that she is in Beijing. The last we had any contact with my mother, she was preparing to leave Shanghai after failing her third marriage," Mianmian recalled.
"Well, things didn't completely work out for them. I'll let Yangyang explain the details. Did you know that your mother was pregnant when she left Shanghai?" Wei Wuxian asked.
Mianmian stilled. "No, I did not," she replied sincerely.
"Well, you have a half-brother now. Ouyang Zizhen is seven years old and a ball of energy. You'll like him," Wei Wuxian explained.
"What's happening here?" Lan Wangji interrupted. "You're not supposed to steal my sister-in-law," he warned.
"Well, I am not stealing her. She looks a lot like her younger sister, just a bit matured and have the last name. Is it too far a stretch to ask if they are related?" he asked.
"Not at all. If she has a family then she may visit, giving us some lone time," Lan Wangji suggested.
Wei Wuxian blushed and patted his hand.
"You two are so in love. I was worried when you told me that you received your certificate on Tuesday. I wondered if he was rushing into something to keep up appearances, but I really like your bunny," Mianmian said.
"Mianmian, is this your first visit to your brother-in-law? He never introduced us in the past," Wei Wuxian feigned.
"Well, we didn't meet in Beijing even though its his base. My hospital work kept me in Suzhou. We met up a few times when we travelled but because Wangji is estranged from his family our interactions were mainly virtual. When the workshop was arranged by Beijing hospital, I recalled that he was here and arranged things accordingly. Whenever we met in the past several years, he always mentioned you, just nothing specific," Mianmian explained.
Wei Wuxian nodded, eying Lan Wangji who gave his approval.
It was time for Mianmian to ask questions, however. "Why did you suddenly choose to get married now?" she asked.
"I just turned thirty and lost my job on my birthday. Ji ge saw this as an opportunity to get married and start a family because earlier I was a bit of a workaholic. He suggests that I should take this opportunity to pace myself and experience the finer things in life, like the man your brother-in-law is," Wei Wuxian explained.
"I don't believe that Lan Wangji can be that cheesy," Mianmian scoffed.
"Trust me Jie. Once you get him on the bed and lock the door, not only does his ice melt, but he also literally turns from an ice jade to a smoldering piece of amber," Wei Wuxian boasted.
"Wow, do tell. Maybe I can take some pointers and apply it on Xichen. He may not be as cold as Wangji but he is as stuck up most of the time," she explained.
"I can imagine. Afterall they are siblings," he enthused. In his mind Wei Wuxian filed the name Lan Xichen for future use, after all Lan Wangji hadn't given him much details.
"So, where am I staying?" Mianmian asked.
Lan Wangji blinked. "Didn't you say you're going to crash in our guest room?" he asked.
"Oh that? I was just teasing you. I don't want to impose between a newly married couple," she exclaimed.
"Oh no Jie. You're staying with us. Ji ge mentioned that you were his best friend growing up. I want to hear embarassing tales from you. You're not staying anywhere else. It's decided," Wei Wuxian stated.
A look of panic crossed Mianmian's face as she looked to Lan Wangji who nodded in assurance and just like that Mianmian was back to her smiling self. "好好好" she assured, letting Wei Wuxian lead her to their home.
Wei Wuxian didn't miss the forced enthusiasm. What were they hiding? Wei Wuxian realized that even though Lan Wangji didn't belong to Suzhou, he had strings that tied him to the home of the Lans and he wasn't forthcoming with every detail of his past. It sent a shiver down his spine. Three more months, he assured himself but that thought in itself instilled a different pang in his heart. He was getting attached to the man he was married to and it was scary.
