"I am here to see Hanguangjun," Wei Wuxian spoke at the reception of Qinghe Law Firm. "He is expecting me," Wei Wuxian replied. He was dressed in a crisp white suit that spoke money. He found it hanging in the closet and supposed that it belonged to Lan Wangji.
"If you know Hanguangjun, you know that he waits for no one," the receptionist informed him with a sugary smile.
Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes and took out his phone. "I'm downstairs. I have the draft, but your receptionist won't let me in," he spoke into the phone.
Wei Wuxian nodded as Lan Wangji instructed him to wait. Two minutes later a tall man in beige three piece suit walked gracefully down the hallway. The receptionist sputtered on seeing her boss while drool dripped down Wei Wuxian's gaping mouth.
"You're not gay," Lan Wangji reminded him, bringing him back to his senses. Wei Wuxian shook his head, clearing the fog. That posture, that grace, even the mismatched shape of the eyes, it all sent him into a deja vu.
"You're Lan Wangji?" he asked in confusion.
"Who else?" Lan Wangji retorted.
"You look like someone I know, knew," Wei Wuxian admitted.
"Oh yes, as if I have not heard that one before," Lan Wangji deadpanned.
Wei Wuxian pursed his lips and shook his head. "Where do we sit to discuss all this?"
"My office. Follow me," Lan Wangji replied, leading the way.
When Wei Wuxian entered Lan Wangji's office he noticed the wide empty spaces. Everything about the man spoke cold.
"Who do we have here?" Xue Yang greeted the newcomer.
"Yangyang, don't tease. Wei Wuxian is not your friend," Lan Wangji warned.
"Not yet," Xue Yang answered with a scowl.
"That's my assistant and best friend, Xue Yang. He will be signing as witness," Lan Wangji informed.
Wei Wuxian nodded and took a seat on the couch that Lan Wangji indicated.
"So, what are your terms," Lan Wangji asked.
"The Jiang's fostered me from when I was twelve years old to when I turned eighteen. After that they sponsored my education in college. Once I graduated, they helped me found a software company that was registered as Jiang Software. Yesterday there was a server fault and a malware attack. The attack was successfully blocked but someone had leaked public data because of which the company suffered face-loss. Instead of finding the culprit, the Jiangs kicked me out of the company I founded, taking away all my shares in the name of compensation for their loss. In the last eight years that I have worked they have not credited any salary to me, claiming it all as compensation for the education they had sponsored. Calculated at market value I have paid over ten times my college tuition in man hours alone. Now I have nothing. You are the greatest corporate lawyer in Beijing, right. That's my term. I want my company back and a public apology from Yu Ziyuan. Can you do that for me?" Wei Wuxian explained.
Lan Wangji narrowed his eyes. Xue Yang snickered. "I am beginning to like you already," he proffered.
"It's a complicated case," Lan Wangji expressed.
"It is quite unbelievable that someone would tolerate such a level of exploitation without lashing out. So, the moment the financial abuse comes to light there will be a motive behind the server sabotage, and you will be put on trial," Xue Yang pointed out.
"Why Yu Ziyuan? Why not Jiang Fengmian?" Lan Wangji asked.
"Yu Ziyuan has been targeting me from day 1. She made my living conditions hell. It was only because her daughter Jiang Yanli was already sixteen that I had some sort of protection from her. I avoided confrontation at all cost. Then by the time I founded Jiang Software, Jiang Yanli got married. That's one of the major reason I started living in the company. I worked day and night, establishing it as one of the top four companies in Beijing right now," Wei Wuxian explained.
"Do you think Jiang Yanli will testify for you in court against her parents?" Lan Wangji asked.
Wei Wuxian looked down, shaking his head. "Then it's even more difficult," he surmised. "Can you get me data on the server crash? Data on the malware? I believe the leaked data should be available in public domains," Lan Wangji sidetracked.
Wei Wuxian looked up excited and nodded. "Yes, I can. I can get it right away," he said.
"You get me that. I'll include it in the prenup. I'll clear your name and get you your due. In return you pretend to be my civil partner in front of my sister-in-law who is coming to Beijing on Saturday. She is coming to serve a term in the Beijing hospital as a psychiatrist. So we need to maintain this act for two to three months. Once she leaves you are free of me and I am free to pursue the man I like. Do we have a deal?" Lan Wangji asked.
"One more thing," Wei Wuxian interrupted.
"What now?" he asked, impatiently.
"I don't want your money. Whatever you spend on me, I will pay you back when I get back on my feet. That again is nonnegotiable. I won't compromise with my self respect. I am already putting a question mark on my manhood by agreeing to be with you," Wei Wuxian huffed.
Lan Wangji narrowed his eyes. What he found adorable in his drunken state was as much adorable while sober. Wei Wuxian was cute. There was no arguing with that. While Mo Xuanyu's innocence was marked with desperation, Wei Wuxian's was simply adorable. Too bad that he wasn't gay. Lan Wangji blinked. What was he thinking? Mo Xuanyu was his bunny, his white moonlight. How could he entertain thoughts about someone else? He sighed and looked at Wei Wuxian.
"Fooding is free. I need to eat too. You can cook if you can or learn if you want to. Clothing, you wear what you want. When you go out, you have to dress fancy. Since we are the same size you can return those when you leave. Accommodation- you can continue to stay in the guest room. If you cook and clean, nothing will be assumed owed. I don't want to keep any loose strings once the three months are up," Lan Wangji asked.
Wei Wuxian nodded. "These terms are acceptable, but I want it in writing and also one more- during this time neither of us will indulge in any extramarital sexual activity?" he explained.
Lan Wangji stared at him-"Extramarital or intramarital?"
"Both?" Wei Wuxian questioned.
"You can't have it both ways. What if I get horny and want to bang that sweet ass of yours? Wouldn't you want me to get a whore and bang instead? Don't forget, I am gay while you are not," Lan Wangji pointed out.
"If I am to be made responsible to make it seem that we have a happy marriage you have to be the loyal husband too. So, no playing the field. You can go chasing your man after three months, not before," Wei Wuxian declared.
Lan Wangji narrowed his eyes and gave an evil smile. He turned to Xue Yang. "I know you are always telling me that I need to get some practice to satisfy my bunny in bed. This looks like the perfect opportunity." he declared.
Xue Yang shook his head and snickered. "And you call me evil," he replied.
Wei Wuxian frowned. "What's going on?"
"I'll be faithful, wifey, but I'll pound you raw. No extramarital sex for three months. Is that all?" Lan Wangji whispered, his cinnamon breath fanning Wei Wuxian's face. Wei Wuxian blinked.
"What?"
