The year is 2012. Our beloved hero, Steven Rogers is now miraculous alive. After crashing through the ice of the Arctic, and after sixty-nine years, SHIELD scientist found him, frozen in ice. In those almost seventy year of being frozen, the world was still moving on. New machines and electronics have been invented, new medicine, new buildings.

Steve not being all to sure how to deal with it all, just spends his time working out and trying to cope with it all. With all the Howling Commanders dead and no clue if his love is alive or not, he keeps to himself. Unsure of this new world. As he's going at a boxing bag a man walks in.

Steve knows the man as Nick Fury. He has an eye patch covering his left eye and a long black leather coat. The man is not to be easy with. He is the one in charge of SHIELD.

"You here for a mission?" Steve asks.

"I am," he responds.

"Trying to get me back into the world?"

"More like trying to save it."

Steve now turns around to face him. He walks over and picks up another punching bag.

"Hydra has a secret weapon," Fury starts to explain. "Howard Stark found it in the ocean when he was looking for you. He thought what we think, about the Tesseract being and ultimate source of energy. And that is something, the world does need."

Steve starts hitting the bag repeatedly, asking, "who took it from you?"

"He calls himself Loki. He's not from around here. There is a lot that we need to fill you up on. If you are in and except it. The world has gotten even stranger."

"I doubt that," Steve says, undoing his wraps.

"Ten bucks says your wrong," Fury says. "There is a debriefing folder back at your apartment. Is there anything about the Tesseract that we don't know about?"

"Yeah, you should have left it in the ocean," Steve says, walking out of the gym.

Once Steve gets home and is all cleaned up, he picks up the tan folder and sits down on his little chair in the living room. He opens it and starts going over it. Reality be, what else does he have to do? If he were to die, it would mean that he could finally be with Bucky and the rest of his teammates. And if he were to live, then he lives and keeps on fighting.

Three days later, Steve is back into action and on his way to the rendezvous point. Once he lands he meets up with another man that he has read about. Doctor Bruce Banner. He's wearing khakis and a purple shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Then, a woman walks in. Steve read about her as well. Natasha Romanov. Steve already wasn't to sure about her. He doesn't like that she has the same name as his Howling Commander. The Black Widow. That was Elizabeths name.

"Hey boys. I think we should step inside. It's going to get a little hard to breath," Natasha says walking towards them.

Steve walks over the edge, looking over the raft and to the ocean beneath.

"Is this a submarine?"

Me in a submarine? Nah," Banner slightly chuckles.

Then the propellers start to go and before they know it, it's being lifted up in the air. They Beth step away from the edge.

"Oh no. This is much worse," Banner says, putting his hands in his pockets.

The three make their way inside and Steve is in awe. Looking around and inspecting the place. One memory coming to mind.

"Bucky would have loved this," a thick voice says from behind.

Steve turns around and his eyes go wide. A woman, at medium height with long light brown hair trickling all the way down a little past the middle of her back. Her footsteps are strong, powerful, and confident. She's wearing a black leather jacket with a white wife better underneath. She has on black jeans and black boots that go to her knees. Her piercing blue almost gray eyes make direct contact with Steves soft baby blue.

"Elizabeth?" Steve barely gets out.

"Good to see you too," she softly smiles and makes her way closer to Steve.

"How are you-"

"Long story," she cuts off.

"Elizabeth," Natasha says happily.

A big smile is plastered onto her face. The two hug each other and smile.

"Thank you for coming," Natasha says.

"Yeah well this is my job is it not?" Elizabeth asks.

Steve just looks at the woman standing in front of him. Then, foot steps can be heard walking down. Steve can tell that it's Fury so he pulls out his wallet and hands him a ten dollar bill. Fury takes it with a smirk creeping on his face.

After everyone is settled and after a meeting of introducing and Fury telling them the objective, they are finally on their way to Germany. As Steve, Natasha, and Elizabeth are in the plane, Tony Stark is flying beside them.

Elizabeth is in the cock pit flying the jet when Steve comes up to talk with her. The woman is in an all black leather suit with a hood up and mask covering her mouth.

"Hey," Steve starts, not wanting to startle her.

"We're almost there is that's what your going to ask," Elizabeth states.

"Oh, ok. I was actually hoping that we could talk. I mean, you, are Elizabeth Adams. Right?" He asks.

"Trust me, it is me," he says.

"So then how did you survive? Is Bucky alive?" Steve asks.

"I survived because of my ability to regenerate my body. I can't die. And Bucky is gone," she says, her voice getting deeper.

"Oh. I know you are Russian, you don't have to hide your real accent from me," Steve says.

"I'm not hiding it. I had to get rid of it. After World War Two, people didn't like Russians, I had to get rid of it to keep myself safe."

"Oh, I see."

The air becomes awkward and stiff. After standing there for a moment Steve is about to leave, but before he goes, Elizabeth speaks up.

"I'll explain everything to you later. But right now we need to focus on the mission given to us," Elizabeth says.

Steve smiles to himself and says, "sounds good, Black Widow."

Steve leaves before she can say anything. So, she lets out a sigh and hangs her head. She passed that title on to Natasha. She hasn't actually been the Black Widow in close to ten years. Even then, it wasn't the Black Widow, just the Widow.
