~War-Time Help~

After learning your mistake yesterday, you set your alarm for earlier at 6:00 on the dot. As the annoying alarm beeped on and off, you groggily opened your optics. There was nothing more you wanted to do than cover yourself back up and just go back into recharge. It was only your second solar cycle on this ship, and you hated your spark for staying in beat. You started to wish you were back in that escape pod soaring through space, at least there you weren't interrupted in your stasis.

Nonetheless, you resigned to having to go to work and got out of your comfy berth. You walked over to the little washroom area that accompanied your quarters. You followed the same routine as yesterday, fixing up the minor blemishes on your faceplates. Afterward, you headed out for the morning energon supply. You made sure to drink up this time since you unfortunately missed it yesterday.  You then headed to the daily morning briefing of some sorts that was held by lord Megatron. You tried to pay attention, but since it didn't concern you, you couldn't help but get lost in thought. Finally, when that yap session was over, you headed to the med bay to get started on the solar cycles work.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The days were like this for the next cyber-weeks. You were starting to get used to waking up super early. You didn't like it, but you were getting used to it to say the least. Everything was going swell; you became acquainted with the few vehicons you were ordered to patch up. You got a bit closer to Knock Out since you figured that if you were going to see each other every day for the rest of your creation, you might as well be a little bit friendly. You got to see that Breakdown mech often because he would usually assist in the days work, especially if nothing was happening on the ship. Life on the Decepticon ship wasn't so bad. At least that was your opinion.

You had been on that ship for about an Orbital Cycle. You learned quite a lot, like how you were on Earth and there were actually other living things here too. You also had to learn how time was interpreted on this strange planet. You learned that there was a big star in space called the "sun," and that it brought light and life to everything in its glow. It was obviously very different than Cybertron, but it still looked pretty. Sometimes.

It was just a random solar cy- er day, and you weren't doing much. You just left the med bay to go to the washroom because why not. As soon as you got inside, everything went to utter chaos. A loud sound rang off in the distance and groups of vehicons rushed for a room. You were left confused, so you just did what you thought was right and headed for the med-bay. As you got in, you discovered a Knock Out frantically preparing every bed and cleaning off equipment.

"What's happening? Why is there an alarm blaring off like it's the end all out there?" you asked.

"There's a full-on battle happening in one of our energon mines. We have to prepare the med-bay for the injured soldiers."

Oh. . . that makes sense. You start trying to help him, getting everything ready. Set up a few energon bags, sterilized some syringes. Everything was set.

"Thank Primus for you, ____. It would have taken me YEARS to set this place up!" It was weird to hear the word "years" be used, but you knew that it meant stellar cycles. You laughed a little at his joke.

"He he. . . so what do we do now?" you shrugged at him, were you just supposed to stare at the wall until everyone returns?

"We just wait. Usually, they send me out to fight on the field also, so on top of fixing myself I have to fix EVERYBOT else. But I guess since this is your first time in med bay during a major fight, they held me back to assist you through it." That made sense, you couldn't imagine how stressful it would be like if it was just you by yourself.

"Does lord Megatron send everybot out to fight? Or only those with prior experience?" You were genuinely curious, since you knew you can't hold your own on a battlefield. But desperate times call for desperate measures, so you would just have to suck it up and fight with all your spark.

"Well. . . I suppose so. I mean every day we have a depleting amount of vehicons, so you send whoever you can, with or without the knowledge needed to fight. But I don't think he'll send you out right away, maybe in a few months from now. Especially since you're not a fighter," he playfully said the last part and nudged you on your wing plate. You gave back an awkward smile, which you didn't really mean to do. But after that you guys both exchanged some small talk and waited patiently. It was like the calm before a big Cybertronian thunderstorm.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, it happened, and the rush-hour began. One after another they all flooded into the med-bay. You were afraid that there wasn't going to be enough beds to accommodate them all. You and Knock Out made a plan while you were waiting for this moment; situate the bigger wounds, finish the small wounds, and get back to work with the bigger wounds. You were scared at the sight you saw. Vehicons had pieces missing out of them. Some had detached servos/pedes. Energon was practically EVERYWHERE except inside of them. You quickly searched through the swarm for the bots suffering from the most damage, got them stabilized and ready, then looked for ones that where easy to fix. This way, you accomplished a lot of easy feats while preparing for the bigger ones.

It was WAY past the time when you would usually leave, but you didn't mind staying a little longer to finish up fixing some smaller injuries from bots. Obviously, you couldn't leave all the cleaning up for Knock Out alone. You placed the last energon container on the counter and were about to stow it away until you heard the med-bay door open. You thought it was just Knock Out going to his quarters for the night, but then you saw him in your peripheral view treating somebot. You turned around to see who this mysterious bot was at the door, and it was just Soundclo-wave. Without the lights on, it was pretty creepy looking at the mech. Just a tall figure standing in the doorway.

"Oh, hey Soundwave, what can I do for you?" you asked, staring at his blank visor.

He paused for a minute, then played a recording produced of many sounds, "It is past downtime, report to quarters." You were confused, it couldn't be that past downtime. And besides, you're a doctor on board this vessel, it was your job to help people whether or not it was a little past downtime.

You decided to check you I.T.S. to see what mega-cyc- hour of the solar cycle it was.

      *4:09 A.M.*

'WHAT?! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!' you thought to yourself and faced back at the mech. Thats when you noticed something, his right-wing plate all the way to the center of his chassis seemed to be disfigured in a sort of way. Maybe it was just the lighting, but something looked wrong. To the regular bot, they looked fine, but you aren't a regular bot when it comes to medical situations. You squinted your optics a bit to get a better look. Yup, something was off.

"Hey, did you get damage done on your right-wing plate/ front chassis area?" you asked, it took up a lot of courage to say something like that to a superior officer.

"Yes. . . but it is fine for now. Will assess at later point."

"Well, I could do it really fast right now. I mean, there's still some supplies left unscathed," you tried to make a little joke at the end, but no bot laughed.

      "No need, I-"

"It will be quick, I promise," again, to cut off such a superior officer really took confidence that you didn't know you had. He just stared at the ground for a split second and back to you.

      "Ok."
