~Hot and Cold~

You got back to the ship and instantly went to the med-bay. The line was already somehow out the door. This was going to be a difficult session.

"Excuse me, coming through. Pardon me," you said while trying to enter your workspace. Vehicons and other bots moved out of the way for you. Once you got inside, you saw that some patients were already ready to be tended to.

'Here we go again. . .'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first few patients were easy. You just had to fix a few circuits, wires, and reattached a few loose bolts. They progressively got harder, some being urgent life-saving operations and others being whole limb replacements. You worked your circuits off!

It was super late in the night when you finally finished. Just like last time. You checked your I.T.S. to see if there was still a slight chance of energon rations being offered still. It was 2:57 a.m. You felt a hand unit grasp your wing plate.

"Good job today ____. I really appreciate having you around. Primus KNOWS how long it would have taken me to do by myself. But now, I have a bit of extra time to buff out all these new scratches I just got! Anyways, see you in a few hours," Knock Out commented, adding a little shake as he let go of your wing plate and headed out the door. Breakdown (who was surprisingly still there) followed suit and gave you a wave as he stepped into the dark halls of the Nemesis.

You were going to do the same thing. You just had to finish cleaning down some medical beds that were already occupied. That, and you also had to do a final check on the vehicons/bots in the back who were in more serve states of damage. As you entered the back, you looked down at all the bots that were laid before you. All in stasis. All as damaged as the other. It made you quite sad to think how the "good" side could do this to bots who were unwillingly brought into war. But then again, you would do the same thing too if you were on the "good" side. You made your rounds, ensuring everything was still in place. As you were checking up on a patient, you ended up hitting the table behind you and dropping a bottle of medicine that was left out. As you picked it up, the front doors guarding the med-bay opened up, signaling there was somebot who just entered. Stepping forward, you peered you helm out from behind a curtain to see who it was. There, lurking in the shadows, was the all too familiar frame of a certain lengthy mech. Your spark skipped a beat for a second, and you quickly composed yourself.

'Why'd you do that stupid spark? There is NOTHING to get excited about, we are JUST friendly with each other. He's probably here to reprimand me about staying out late, although it's to help bots. I wouldn't want to stay up this late willingly.' Your processor was trying to tell your spark somethings to calm it down, but it wouldn't listen. You were weirdly nervous. This wasn't normal at all, obviously.

Finally, you mustered up the little strength you had left to step out from behind the curtains.

"Hey Soundwave, uhm what can I do for ya? Let me guess, you want me to head to my quarters?" you jokingly stated. Again, no emotion came out from him.

"I need your help. Fix me." Cold.

"Of. . .of course I can help you! Just uh come right into the back!" you swiftly walked away to make space on a vacant bed. No matter how tired you were, you wouldn't shoo away a bot in need. You would just have to suffer a bit longer.

"What seems to be the problem? Did you get shot or something?"

"Yes. Upper right wing plate. Left pede and left servo." The voice mash-up clips were starting to creep you out little by little.

"Ahh yes, I should've noticed it when you walked in. Guess it was just the lighting. Hopefully this won't take too long."

It didn't take too long at all! That was a relief. Before you knew it, you were finishing up with the upper right wing plate."

"So," you spoke in between mending wires, "why didn't you stop by right after the fight? Why did you wait till this late?"

He responded almost instantly, "It gets packed after fights, I usually get checked out later in the week." His answer disappointed you for a reason you couldn't figure out. It was like you wanted Soundwave to say something, but you didn't know what.

"Mhm. Where's your little minicon Littlebeak or whatever their name was?"

"Laserbeak. I already put them in recharge for the night."

"Cool. . ." you spoke with an undertone of solemn. The way he interacted with you, the short answers he gave, the tone he used, it made you all upset. You were trying to show interest in this mysterious mech, and yet it felt he was rejecting you at every turn you took! It was really frustrating you!

"Watch it." You awoke from your angry daze to see you were mending with way too much force, and accidently burnt the metal a bit. Not too much though.

"I'm sorry, I'll just fix it up a bit. Won't happen agai-"

      "It's ok." Seriously?

"How late do you usually stay up till Soundwave? Because this schedule is driving me to an early grave!" You thought this question would HAVE to have some sort of a thought process to answer.

"Late. Sometimes early. But mostly after 1 a.m."

"How are you still alive? I don't think I could keep up with that!" you chuckled. No response.

"Alright well your done. Tell me if anything hurts, or if something malfunctions."

He nodded. You just turned around and started putting everything you took out away. It was so annoying that you had to do this yet again when you could be recharging. But so be it, at least you helped somebot. You went to pick up a certain item, but something else reached it before you could.

"I got it," Soundwave asserted, and placed it on a shelf. He then proceeded to put everything else away using not only his hand units, but also his retractable tentacles. In the blink of an optic, the place looked just like it did before.

"There you go. Let's head out."
