He handed you a blue energon cube. You snatched it from his hands and started drinking a bit; your tanks were emptier than you thought. Of course, a part of you wanted to chug the cube. But you knew that that would be very improper of you. Soundwave tapped your wing plate.

      "Come. Sit down."

You obliged and instantly sank into the left side of this soft, velvety couch. It was a comfort like no other. Not even your berth felt this heavenly: the texture, the softness. You couldn't hold back your amazement.

"Where in Primus's name did you get this Soundwave? It's so comfortable! Is there another one available or what?"

"I don't remember where exactly. We were fighting the autobots, and a store that we exploded had this giant couch on display. So, I stole it for my quarters."

"Wow, I haven't yet been able to add anything to my sector. But next time I'm sent out I'll definitely be on the lookout for new furniture like this!" Soundwave nodded at your remark, then turned his head and picked up a remote control. He pushed a button, and the T.V. whirled to life.

"What shows do they have here? I presume they are not the same as the ones back on Cybertron," you asked, turning your attention to the flat screen.

"The shows and films here are surely interesting. This T.V. comes from a broadcast, so it picks up what each channel is showing," he clicked an arrow button, and it led to a network.

You were absolutely astonished at what you saw. It was a yellow square thing, but unlike a square the sides were squiggly. Not only that, but it also had what appeared to be holes and wore shoes, socks, and clothes. It was also under what looked like water. And it lived in a. . . pineapple? Not only that, but it was also friends with a pink fat star.

"Is this what some organisms look like here? All yellow and holey and stuff? And pink and shaped like a star? And why do they live in fruits?" you naively asked.

"No, this is just an animated show. The creatures that dwell on this planet look nothing like this. They don't live in food either. You've never seen a human before? Or a city?" he asked you, and you could have sworn you heard some shock in his voice. But then again, the clip he was using could've just been a shocked bot saying something.

"No, I've only been sent out to places that are surrounded by. . . what are they called again? Like tall and green things are on them."

      "Trees."

"Yes, that's it. I've only been to places with trees surrounding me. Or in caves underground. So, I've never got to see much organic life, only the weird looking critters that roam the floor. Oh, and sometimes what is called 'avian species'."

"Birds. Back on Cybertron, there were birds also." Soundwave pointed to Laserbeak, "They're a bird."

"Oh, yea I forgot about them. When my sire would bring me way out from the city lines, I would be able to see flocks flying and squawking amongst one another. It's been so long since I've been 'home' Soundwave, I just. . . I just really want this war to be over." You adverted your gaze to the T.V. from his face, "I just want to one day be able to go back to my sector and lay on MY berth, not this temporary one. I just want to see Iacon again, the beautiful lights and shining skyline. Or the courageous gladiatorial pits of Kaon, full of fierce and savage femmes and mechs dueling each other to the death! And the lithium flats of. . ." you couldn't go on. You missed your home planet so much, there was an indescribable pain it caused you to think back about it. You just wanted to scream and cry and throw whatever was in your way when the thought of going back to your old life returned. You would do anything to get it back.

You felt a servo rest on your wing plate. You turned your helm towards his.

"Me too. I live to serve lord Megatron, but I too wish sometimes we were back on Cybertron." You stared at the empty black screen on his face and saw your own reflection. It felt like for one split second you were able to relate to one of the most distant bots you ever met. For one nano-klik he felt like a normal bot, somebot who also had feelings and opinions and didn't just focus on the war. There was a bit of a connection going on between the two of you, at least that's how you felt.

"Do you think this war will ever end? Do you think we'll ever see our home again? Or is it too late?" you solemnly questioned.

"I don't know." Wow this was taking a depressing turn for the worse. You yet again adverted your gaze back to the T.V. screen ahead of you, and the weird yellow creature was doing something weird. It was kind of funny. You felt him lift his hand unit off your wing plate, and you could've sworn you felt that short connection break. It was bizarre, you felt sad for a minute that he let go.

'We were having a moment together! Did he have to remove his hand unit from my wing plate? We could've stayed just a nano-klik longer- NO! No, he was just comforting us as. . . friends.' The thought made you a little sadden in your spark, but you had to push it away. You couldn't stay any longer, you had to go back for your own sake.

"Thanks for inviting me over Soundwave, but I think I'll be taking my leave now," you got up and put down your empty cube.

"Let me walk you back, here lets-"

"No, it's ok. I don't want to be a burden at all, and you've shown me so much hospitality."

"Nonsense, I insist." This mech was so persistent.

"No I. . . alright let's just go." There was no point in fighting, he was almost adamant on walking you back. How nice.
