You were fed up with being constantly ignored by somebot you thought highly of. You hated this new mood switch, whatever happened you were going to get to the bottom of it. Who was he to think it was ok to ignore you out of the blue? Or black because this ship was pretty dark. But that doesn't matter, he didn't have a right to act all high and mighty over you, or maybe he did because he was a MUCH higher ranking than you were. Either way, you wouldn't let this go for much longer.
The hardest part about trying to get some closure was figuring out how you were going to do it. You couldn't just waltz right up to Soundwave and say, "Hey, what's wrong with you? Why are you so distant? What did I do?" Well, you absolutely could say that, but it wouldn't be right. You needed to have a plan and take some action. Closure, in any way, shape or form. You had a bit of an idea.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You knew Soundwave's work schedule because practically everybot knew it. He stayed inside what you called the "main control room" for the whole entire workday, leaving only after his shift had ended. Then, he heads down to either his quarters or to get some energon for the night. Before he heads into recharge, he is responsible for making sure that everyplace is properly shut down and/or all bots onboard this vessel are where they should be. A fairly simple and orderly schedule.
The first step of this plan was to find a way to TRAP him somehow. But not in a creepy, life-threatening style. Just in a way so that he's FORCED to talk to you and couldn't escape (again not in a creepy way). This was probably the hardest part for you, because none of the options seemed good enough to work.
You first thought something on the lines of maybe interrupting him during his daily work. He wouldn't have any choice but to talk to you. But then again, interrupting important work because of a personal need didn't only seem selfish but very silly. You could be interrupting important, war-winning research all because you wanted an explanation. It felt very stupid. You could go up to Soundwave after work. Maybe on the flight deck. But, with the amount of open space there he can easily avoid any contact with you. And even if you went straight to his sector, he still could easily ignore you and/or leave you outside. This was going to be a little harder than you first imagined. . .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After conjuring up thoughts for a day, you had a pretty solid idea. Not only was it a good trick, but it also ensured that in any outcome he would HAVE to talk to you.
It was simple:
First, you stay a bit later after the other bot(s) have left the med-bay. This should leave you completely alone, excluding the other patient bots. When the coast is clear you'll sneak into the back of the room where the controls are. The links that allow anybot to receive or broadcast information anywhere onboard this vessel or on this planet. You won't damage the system, instead you'll switch up a few wires. They should cause the broadcasting system to go a bit haywire. Putting on a worried facade, you'll worriedly rush out of the med-bay and ask a few vehicons to go fetch Soundwave to help fix this "terrible" circumstance (hopefully there will be some vehicons walking around). He'll come in, fix a few wires, and before he leaves, you'll stop him and ask, no DEMAND, for an explanation. He'll say it, you both will come to a compromise, and whabam. Friendship restored. Seemed easy enough.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even after recharging on your plan, it still seemed like a good idea. In fact, you couldn't wait until the day was over to put it in action.
Thankfully, the time came.
"Alright ____, it's that time of day. The shift is finally finished!" Knock Out dramatically exclaimed with excitement.
"Yay! But I think I have to stay a little late today, just have to take a quick look at something. Shouldn't take too long!"
"Can't you do it in the morning tomorrow? You're constantly working and putting items on your plate. Leave it for tomorrow dear."
"I-I'd rather do it right now, it would be a lot easier that way!"
"Well, it's your world I just live in it. Have fun then!" With that Knock Out left the premises. Now it was your time to shine.
Quickly, you fled out towards the back to mess around with the broadcasting system. After trying to send a signal through and nothing worked, you knew it was go time. Putting on a worried act, you gasped loudly and rushed out of the med-bay to find any bots nearby who could help in this plan. Thankfully, Primus was on your side as 2 Vehicons were mindlessly wondering at that time.
"Thank Primus you both are here," you said, trying to keep that hint of worry in your voice. "The broadcasting system in the med-bay has crashed all of a sudden. I need both of you to go get Soundwave for me. Please? He should know what to do."
Without hesitation they agreed and in the blink of an optic Soundwave was standing at the entrance of the med-bay.
"Right this way, it's all the way in the back. I don't really know what happened, there was just a noise and that was all. I've been trying to send a message to it, but nothing works. What could it be?" you asked out loud, but you might as well have said it to yourself because you got no response.
Once you both reached the back, the problem was fixed in no time at all. Again, the problem was just a few misplaced wires. After troubleshooting the system, Soundwave got up to leave, but you quickly stopped him.
"Not so fast, now that I got you hear I just wanna ask a quick question."
