"____, there is a medical request for you." You sipped your energon a bit, looking at the liquid inside. You knew you couldn't ignore a higher-up, so you complied. This would be one awkward walk to med-bay, well at least for you. You had no clue what he would think since it "shockingly" wasn't easy to read his face plates. You quickly collected and composed yourself, got up, and headed towards the door where he was waiting. Well, this wasn't how you wanted to end your day. You were looking forward to enjoying the view more since it was your first time, and now it's all ruined. No fair.

The walk to med-bay was in silence. Occasionally, you would glance up at the tall mech, only to quickly avert your gaze when he stared back. The awkward silence slowly got on your nerves, so you tried to say something.

"Hey, listen I'm sorry about what happened yesterday. I was tired and energon deficient, so my processor wasn't in the right place. I know you threatened to report me, and I'm not sure if you did or didn't yet. But just please hear my apology. I tried to tell you yesterday, but you kept walking and-"

"Apology accepted." Ok, wow that was a lot easier than you thought. You paused for a quick second, unsure of what to do.

"T. . .thank you?" you stated, but it sounded more like a question. He simply nodded back at you. You gave a quiet vent of relief, at least you knew he didn't hate you. You thought of what to do now, you honestly didn't expect it to be this easy. You thought that he would at the very least have a counterpoint or try to argue, or maybe reject it altogether. He seemed mad when it happened, but now he was acting all calm and nonchalant.

The rest of the walk was in silence. Thankfully, it wasn't too long. It was weird walking the halls during the night, everything was so much quieter. There weren't any vehicons running around like crazy, or commands being yelled through speakers. Instead, the only sounds that could be heard was your peds hitting the hard floor. When you entered the med-bay, the large gun-metal grey doors came to life and moved out of the way for you. By the way Soundwave had made this "medical request" sound, you expected to see Knock Out waiting or anyone at the very least. But it was empty. Everything looked like how it looked like when you ended for the night. It was a ghost town to say the very least.

"So, where's Knock Out? Is he coming soon?" you asked, giving this situation the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was just late.

"He's not coming."

Oh. Ok then.

"What do you mean? What's the medical request then?" the doors slowly closed behind you two as you gradually crept in.

"I need you to finish up the work you started on my chassis. It has been uncomfortable for both Laserbeak and I."

"Who?"

At that moment, he picked and took off part of his chassis. What on Cybertron was he doing. But, after a few seconds, it started coming back online from what you presumed was stasis. It was a minicon of some sorts. Now that you think of it, last time (yesterday) you saw Soundwave, he didn't have Laserbeak on him. You should have known it wasn't an actual part of him.

"This is Laserbeak. He is a minicon of mine. He also had some damage dealt to him the other day, do you think you can help him too?" Soundwave asked using those weird multiple voices he has. You nodded.

"I'm a doctor, I'll help any patient. Mech or minicon," you ended with a slight smile and quickly got to work. You wanted to finish up Soundwave's hole first, since it was pretty easy. You got everything set up.

"Alright so just this little wound? Don't worry, I'll be more careful this time. I've actually got fuel in me now," you tried to joke a bit, but he just stayed silent.

'A chuckle wouldn't kill ya pal, you know that?'

The procedure was a success, everything went as planned. It was fairly easy; you were done with in no time. But Laserbeak, that was going to be a bit more of a challenge. You hadn't had lots of experience on minicons. But how different could they reallllllly be?

News flash: it was REALLY different.

For starters, Laserbeak wouldn't hold still! They kept squirming in an attempt to get out of your grasp! You had no idea what you should do.

"C'mon Laserbeak, just hold still so I can fix ya. I won't hurt ya, I promise," you look over at Soundwave for help. He got the memo and proceeded to head over to where you were working.

"Laserbeak, desist," he spoke with the mixed recording. He petted Laserbeak in a certain way, which caused Laserbeak to finally calm down a lot. You felt Laserbeak relax in your grasp, and they stopped moving so much!

That was one of the many challenges you faced. Another one was the circuitry. Since Laserbeak was only a minicon, their circuits were SO much smaller + delicate than the regular bot's. It was very hard to put some wires back in place. You knew what might happen if you mess up in a bot, but not what will happen if you mess up wires in a minicon. For all you knew, Laserbeak could just self-destruct and blow up (not that that was a plausible outcome, but who knows). So absolute precision was NECCESSARY. After the wires were done, next was the mending of the outer layer. Again, since the minicon was tiny, there wasn't a lot of space for errors. In fact, there wasn't a lot of space at all! Overall, it was a super difficult operation, but in the end, you managed to successfully complete it.

"Thank you ____, and Laserbeak thanks you also."

"It was my pleasure; I mean I am a medic after all! Say, what time is it right now? It has to be at least a mega-cycle past lights out?"

"It is. . . 12:54 a.m. You should report to your quarters now." Frag. 12:54 a.m.!? How on Cybertron do you keep managing to stay up so late? Now you'll be super tired again!

"I guess I should definitely go get some well-needed recharge. Do you mind accompanying me to my quarters? I don't have a lot of good experiences of walking after lights out in this ship," you chuckled a bit at the end, but only you were laughing. This was a bold move you were pulling; Primus knows what he would respond with.

"Ok."

You vented in your processor. "Alright then, follow me!"
