"What is your question ____?" he asked.

You took a quick deep breath to try and compose yourself before spilling out your spark.

"Why are you ignoring me Soundwave? What did I do to deserve the silent treatment? Did I hurt you? Do you think I'm useless because of this broken servo? Why don't you talk to me anymore? Why do you leave me waiting every night? Why?" It felt great to finally be able to ask those questions. You wanted answers, you finally were going to get answers.

He stayed silent for a few moments. Those moments felt like an eternity.

"Is this why you called me over? Did you purposely mess up the system so you can interrogate me?" he responded back. It boiled your spark a bit that he would rather pull the victim card and accuse you of something rather than just answer the question.

"So, what if I did?"

"____, breaking systems as important as the broadcast system for personal gain is not in any way acceptable. I should report you to lord Megatron for such crazy ac-"

"Yea yea, you're going to report me to lord Megatron like you tell me EVERY TIME. But I can really give less of a frag about what unacceptable acts I did. You can't run away from me anymore Soundwave. 'Face the music' as many of the organisms say. Tell me what happened, tell me what changed."

As the words left your dermas your spark couldn't help but beat a bit faster. You were about to get an answer that would fix so many of your issues. You have been obsessing over what the answer could have been, and there were so many possibilities you came up with. You were just praying it wasn't a certain one.

"Nothing has changed between us. We were nothing. You just overthought everything," Soundwave responded with that monotone voice of his. You were taken aback, to say the least.

"Do you think I'm stupid? Do you? Like do you think that because I'm a lower ranking than you that must mean that I was created yesterday?" You weren't going to let him pull the blame back on you.

"No."

"So, stop trying to fake me out and give me an actual answer! There is no way in all of Cybertron that we were nothing. Sure, we weren't super tight, but we were not nothing. For weeks after work, we would hang out. We slowly learned stuff about each other. I mean, I even invited you to stay the night in my sector! If we were nothing at all, would I have done that? And you did the same for me as well! Something has changed in you, not me. So please, for my own sanity, give me some sort of closure!"

"I don't want to say it. Now, let me leave ____."

"Why would you even try that? I hate to say this Soundwave, but you really ARE like the other bots on board. You don't let others know how you really feel because it ruins this strong and mighty facade you continue to hold up. I really thought you were different from them. You got me real good, I'll tell you that. I might as well be friends with Starscream, at least he's more talkative."

There was tension in the air from your response. One that wasn't there before. You weren't backing down, not when you had come this far. He may try to seem like the silent type, but everybot has thoughts and ideas of their own. He was hiding something for sure, and this something definitely was a big thing. But what could it be?

You didn't know what else to do so you gently took your one good servo and lifted up his. "Please, don't be afraid to just tell me. I can take A LOT more than you think," you stated while staring at his blank visor. Surprisingly, he didn't immediately yank away his servo. Instead, he just kept it there.
