As Yash stepped out of his car, the late hour cloaked the surroundings in darkness, yet his eyes were instantly drawn to the brilliance of lights adorning the grand mansion. It was a sight to behold-soft, golden hues illuminated every corner, casting shimmering reflections off the white marble courtyard. His gaze traveled upward to the central dome, intricately designed, resembling a regal mandap, much like one used for sacred weddings in India. The ornate structure was surrounded by cascading steps leading into tranquil water pools, with dozens of lit candles flickering along the edges.

The whole area had an ethereal glow.Even at this late hour, the house felt alive, yet eerily quiet, like a grand spectacle frozen in time, awaiting its moment.

Yash stepped into the quiet, dimly lit house, his mind still racing from the countless meetings and decisions he'd made throughout the day. His stomach growled, reminding him that he hadn't eaten since morning, but his focus remained on finishing his work to ensure he'd have the day off tomorrow for the wedding.

"Maa, food?" Yash called out in a louder voice than usual, expecting his mother to appear. Silence answered him back.

"MAAA___," he started again, but before he could finish, a different voice called out from the kitchen.

"Wash your hands, I'm heating your food," Vanya's soft, yet commanding voice came from the kitchen, and in that instant, Yash's heart skipped a million beats. Her voice alone was enough to send shivers through his body, but knowing she was here, so close and safe, made it impossible to focus on anything else.
