But before any of us could react, the gunshot signaling the start of the race echoed through the air, and the bikes roared to life. Avni sped off, tearing through the wind with a confident scream, "Coming, Bhai, after 5 minutes!"

We 5 stood there, momentarily frozen by the audacity of what had just happened. But out of the corner of my eye, I saw Reyansh accelerate his bike, his voice coming through my AirPods. "I'll bring her back," he assured me, the determination in his voice echoing my own concern.

Before I could respond, he cut the call, leaving me with a whirlwind of thoughts. As the other bikers revved their engines, Vivaan and Aarav among them, I knew I wasn't in the mood for a race. But seeing Avni out there, I instinctively reached into my pocket, pulled out my keys, and was about to join the race to pull her out when Ishaan stopped me."She's not alone-Reyansh went after her," he said, his voice calm yet firm.

I didn't quite understand what he was trying to convey, but before I could process it, my phone buzzed with a low battery warning-10% remaining. I had completely forgotten about the situation I had locked away in my office room.

Tanya suddenly appeared, climbing onto the back of my bike, insisting I drop her home. I wanted to argue, but then I saw Ishaan's signal-arguing now would only make things worse. We needed to figure out what was happening between her father and mine, and to do that, I needed to keep her close. With a reluctant nod, I acknowledged Ishaan, who silently reassured me that he had everything under control with Avni and the others.

I started the bike, feeling the wet, disgusted kisses Tanya planted on my neck and shirt as we rode. Her presence irritated me, and I couldn't shake the feeling of urgency building inside me, so I accelerated, the bike roaring beneath us as we sped towards her home.

The moment we arrived, she hopped off, and before she could turn around to give me another kiss, I gunned the throttle and sped away without looking back.My phone buzzed again, this time with a low battery warning-5% left.

I pulled over and opened my phone, my heart pounding as I accessed the camera feed from my bedroom. What I saw made my blood run cold. I didn't even wait five seconds before racing to my office at full speed.
