The room fell silent as they all focused on Joshua, the weight of their worry pressing down on them.
"Can we talk to him?" Dino asked, looking at the doctor, who had followed them to the window.
"Sure, he can still hear you, even if he can't respond right now," the doctor replied. "It might help him."
Jeonghan took a deep breath and spoke first, his voice steady but filled with emotion. "Joshua, we're right here. We're all here for you. You're going to get through this. We love you so much."
"Just hold on a little longer, okay?" Woozi added, fighting back tears. "We need you back with us."
Seungkwan nodded vigorously. "You've always been the strongest among us. You can do this hyung!"
"Just rest and heal hyung," DK said softly, his heart aching for his friend. "We'll be waiting for you, no matter how long it takes."
As they took turns speaking, the weight of their emotions began to lift slightly, the power of their words wrapping around Joshua like a comforting embrace. Though he lay there, unresponsive, they felt a flicker of hope in the air.
"Fight, Joshua hyung," Vernon said, voice firm. "We'll be right here, cheering you on every step of the way."
As the days passed, there were small signs of improvement in Joshua's condition. His vital signs stabilized, and the swelling around his injuries began to subside. The members took turns sitting by the glass window, their hearts full of hope each time they saw him resting peacefully.
One evening, as they gathered to watch Joshua, a sense of calm filled the room. They shared stories and memories, keeping their spirits high. Jeonghan leaned against the glass, whispering jokes in hopes that Joshua could hear him.
But suddenly, a loud, sharp beep pierced the air. The monitor next to Joshua's bed flatlined, the sound echoing ominously through the quiet ICU.
"No, no, no!" Seungcheol shouted, his heart racing. The color drained from his face as he watched the screen.
"Joshua hyung!" Hoshi cried, pressing his hands against the glass, feeling helpless. "Please, wake up!"
Panic erupted in the room as doctors and nurses rushed into Joshua's room, their movements swift and practiced. They shouted orders, and the sound of machinery filled the air, drowning out the members' cries.
"Get the crash cart!" one doctor called out urgently, while another began chest compressions.
The members watched in horror, tears streaming down their faces. "This can't be happening!" Seungkwan sobbed, clutching DK's arm. "Please, not now!"
Jeonghan's heart raced, and he felt dizzy. "Joshua, you have to fight! Please, come back to us!" he shouted, his voice breaking.
Minutes felt like an eternity as the chaos unfolded in front of them. The room was filled with a flurry of activity, the medical team working diligently to revive their friend.
Finally, after what felt like hours, one of the doctors shouted, "Clear!" A jolt of electricity surged through Joshua's body as they used the defibrillator.
"Come on, come on!" Seungcheol whispered, desperation in his voice.
Then, slowly, the monitor began to beep again, the rhythm returning to life. "We've got a pulse!" the doctor announced, relief flooding the room.
The members let out a collective breath, tears of relief mingling with their worry. "Thank you! Thank you!" Hoshi cried, still shaking from the intensity of the moment.
