Y/N always felt like an outsider in Slytherin. Despite being sorted into the house known for its ambition and cunning, she was more quirky and kind-hearted, traits her fellow housemates saw as unfit for a Slytherin. She tried to fit in, but the whispers and cold shoulders only grew louder over time. The only person who ever treated her kindly was Blaise Zabini.
Blaise was different. He wasn't quick to judge and found Y/N's uniqueness refreshing. They often partnered up for projects and sat together during meals. The more time they spent together, the more he appreciated her genuine nature.
One evening in the common room, Y/N sat alone by the fire, reading a book. A group of Slytherins walked by, whispering and casting judgmental glances in her direction. Blaise watched from across the room, feeling a surge of protectiveness. He had tolerated his friends' behavior for too long.
He stood up and walked over to Y/N, sitting down beside her. "What are you reading?" he asked, his voice gentle.
Y/N looked up, surprised but pleased to see him. "It's a book about magical creatures. I've always been fascinated by them."
Blaise smiled. "I can see why. You're like one of them—rare and extraordinary."
She blushed at his compliment, but before she could respond, one of the other Slytherins, a boy named Marcus, called out, "Zabini, why do you waste your time with her? She doesn't belong here."
Blaise's expression darkened. He stood up, facing Marcus and the others. "That's enough, Marcus. Just because she's different doesn't mean she doesn't belong. In fact, it makes her more Slytherin than any of you."
The common room fell silent, everyone watching the confrontation. Marcus scoffed. "Oh, so you're on her side now?"
"Yes, I am," Blaise said firmly. "And if you can't see her worth, then that's your loss."
Y/N's eyes welled up with tears, but she quickly blinked them away. Blaise turned back to her, his expression softening. "Come on, let's get out of here," he suggested.
They left the common room together, heading towards the castle grounds. The cool night air was refreshing, and Y/N felt a weight lift off her shoulders. "Thank you, Blaise," she said quietly. "You didn't have to do that."
He stopped walking and turned to her, his eyes full of sincerity. "Yes, I did. You deserve to be treated with respect. And... I care about you, Y/N. More than just a friend."
Her heart skipped a beat. She had never expected him to feel the same way. "I care about you too, Blaise," she admitted.
He smiled, taking her hand in his. "Then let's not worry about what they think. We have each other, and that's all that matters."
From that day on, Blaise stood by Y/N's side, no longer caring about the opinions of his so-called friends. Their bond grew stronger, and their feelings for each other deepened. They found solace in each other's company, proving that true Slytherin qualities were about loyalty and courage, not conformity.
As they walked back to the castle hand in hand, Y/N realized that she had finally found where she belonged—not in a house defined by others, but with someone who saw her for who she truly was. And for the first time, she felt at home in Slytherin.
