FIRST STEP: FRIENDS

Butch was educating Julieanne of everything that she has to learn about the future. But it struck me; I thought she shouldn’t have any idea of anything beyond her time? Why did He let Julieanne visit me here?

“…So, as you open that door Princess, be prepared to see a radical change.”

“Butch wait, I think she is still missing something…”

“Yeah, you’ll join her buy some stuff at the mall. She should be able to blend with your contemporaries.”

“No, that’s not what I mean… Hang on, did you just say I am going to bring Julieanne to the mall?”

“Yup!” The old man answered.

“Mall? What is that?” Julieanne enquired.

“It’s like a shop or a market. It is where we can buy almost everything you need.” Elmo answered.

“Oh, I am excited. Are we going to take the horses or the carriage?”

Then Sir Elmo and Sir Francesco stared at me with bewilderment and silence. Julieanne Thought.

“HAHAHAHAHAHA!” The two males laughed so hard.

“Uhm, why are you laughing?”

“Sorry Julieanne, I was just (giggles)… we don’t use carriages or horses anymore.”

“Oh…” She said in surprise.

“We use cars, cabs, trains, bicycles… you know…” Elmo tried to explain.

What is he saying?

“It would be much better if you show our Princess the modern world than describing it.” Butch joined in.

“Yeah. Good idea!” Elmo agreed “Uhm, shall we?” Elmo asked Julieanne.

“Take the lead, Sir Elmo” Julieanne answered.

Julieanne’s POV

As Sir Elmo opened up the doors of Sir Francesco’s Hut I was welcomed by the sunlight of the modern day. A lot of things really changed. There are no trees. The sand we used to travel is now made of a very long elongated black rock that seems to extend from nowhere.

“Does this rock end?” Julieanne asked.

“What rock? Oh this isn’t a rock. This is called ‘road’.”

“Fascinating.”

Then a huge bug like white creature neared us. I thought it was just an animal trying to smell our presence but…

“Good heavens! Elmo run! Look! There someone inside that bug!” Julieanne grabbed Elmo’s hand.

Elmo laughs, “That is not a bug. This is a car, it was called a ‘cab’. This is the carriage of our time. We do not use horses anymore remember?”

“Oh…” Julieanne blushed.

We rode the modern carriage and saw its insides. It was smaller compared to our carriage during in our time but the chairs are softer and more comfortable. It was also cold and soothing!

“I really thought thou art dead.” Julieanne blurted out to the driver.

“Excuse me?!” The driver reacted.

“Oh I am sorry, we are just rehearsing our play.” Elmo jolted.

“Oh… (nods) nice costumes by the way.” The driver complimented.
