“Father? Are you still mad?” Julieanne asked, “here I made something for thee.” Perfect he is smiling.
“There is no need for that my child. I understand that the marriage was sudden and I can’t blame thee for being surprised and angry.” Manfred ate Julieanne’s present “These are delicious! What is this odd looking bread?”
“These are doughnuts Father! I made them myself! A friend of mine taught me how to make these.”
2012, 3 o’clock in the Morning
“Ow! I bit my tongue!” Elmo complained.

“Father I really do not want to marry Wilhelm. I can’t endure the fact that I will be living the rest of my life to someone I do not love.” Julieanne said as if she will start to cry.
“Mft belft…” Manfred swallowed the doughnut “…My beloved daughter, this will end the war.” He exclaimed.
“Father, art thee desperate? Thou risk thy daughter’s happiness for something we are not even sure of?”
“Isn’t it a noble thing to do?”
“Father, if I marry Wilhelm, Saint John will not be really at peace! It will be under their influence! It is like we have surrendered the war that our ancestors fought.”

Father was silent for that moment as if he also didn’t consider that thought.

Father was silent again. But he does not stop eating the doughnuts I made for him. Sir Elmo was right!

Few minutes later, Father and I went to the King’s chamber where Wilhelm is waiting.
“Whatever my daughter’s decision is will likewise be mine!” Manfred loudly said.

“Stand up Prince Wilhelm, I, Princess Julieanne, has decided not to accept thy offer. I am a woman of conviction. The blood of my brave ancestors flows within my veins. I believe that it is not peace that you seek but rather control, I am not a fool to just succumb into these battle tactics.”
“Princess, you must have been mistaken, my intentions are pure and…”
“Either it may be true or not, I am not willing to share my bed to someone I do not know.”
“KING MANFRED! HOW COULD YOU LET YOUR DAUGHTER HAVE THE VOICE IN THIS CHAMBER?” Wilhelm suddenly stood up.
“It is the women of Saint John who gave birth to its bravest soldiers. It is natural that they have also the voice to decide and influence.” Manfred defended.

Manfred embraced Julieanne as they watched Wilhelm exit the chambers.
“Father, I hope I did the right thing.” Julieanne embraced her Father.
“It was perfect.” Manfred wept.
Prince Wilhem MAY be true to his words but I am comfortable to be in this situation. I’d rather be in the battlefield riding with my husband than to be in bed with someone I do not love.

Ow! I bit my tongue again! Damn it! This is the second time! I wonder if Julieanne succeeded convincing her father? Brush off! I have to concentrate on our exam in history! I shouldn’t screw this anymore! I studied hard today so I am sure I’ll be bringing home the bacon!
“Get one whole sheet of paper. We will now start the examination.” The professor said.

“Oh Elmo! Good afternoon! Why such a long face?” Butch asked.
“Butch! You old creep!” Elmo said.
“Hey hold your horses, what did I do? By the way, good job with Julieanne! You were able to stop their marriage!”
“That’s the point!” Elmo exclaimed.
Earlier that day…
Oh boy! Oh boy! The results will be given now! I can’t wait to see how good my exam was!
“Class I am a bit disappointed by the examination yesterday. What I gave you was the easiest history exam that any history professor could give. Yet there is still someone who failed it and worse he got zero!”
Wow! I wonder who could that person be?
“All I asked in the exam is to discuss the life story of the leader of Germany during the Second World War… Mr. Magalona, I do not know what you are thinking yesterday but may I know Who Wilhelm the Turk is?”
“Sweet Mother of Mercy!” Elmo exclaimed.

“Well at least you were able to fix the “real” history.”
“But I studied!”
“I told you before didn’t I? The simplest choice of an individual person can change the whole course of history. Do you know Clark Bridges? He is the real reason why Isaac Newton discovered the law of gravity. How? Because he was the little kid who climbed the apple tree when Newton sat beneath it. It was that little boy who dropped the apple and hit Isaac. Without that apple hitting Isaac’s head he wouldn’t have the intuition of making the Law of gravity. Now can you see how our choices affect other people’s lives? You should have remembered this before you answered Wilhem instead of Hitler.”
“Oh what a bummer!”
“Cheer up! Your task does not end here! There is still more to come and more exams to fail!” Butch wisecracked.
