"Hi Minho" Jisung said as soon as he noticed the older entering the living room.
As usual on Saturday's mornings, Minho woke up pretty lately. He entered the room with disheveled hair and sleepy eyes, craving for coffee.
And as usual, Jisung was spending his morning on the couch, a book in his hands.
Minho sat at the table, waving at him and greeting him back.
"I read the university book you recommended me" Jisung said excitedly.
Minho blinked, finding it surreal.
"... I told you about it 3 days ago" Minho mumbled, voice still hoarse from his sleep.
"Yeah ?"
"It took me a semester to read it" Minho muttered, almost offended.
Jisung shrugged, before standing up to walk closer to Minho, sitting at the table.
"It's really interesting. I understand know why gender roles exist. If women are women, and if men are men, it is because the entire society made them. Because society builds a gender role, then people build gender stereotypes according to their societies and push aside the ones that doesn't fit in." Jisung explained, wearing a proud smile.
Minho got a bit confused from the rambling at first, then realized how well Jisung had understood.
Sometimes, he was so smart it was a bit scary.
He smiled softly at him.
"You got it" He praised.
"I'm happy I do" Jisung stated proudly "And the book was fascinating, I might buy more on this subject"
"Do you understand now why you can't treat women differently ?" Minho asked curiously.
"Yep ! I get it" Jisung nodded eagerly "They're humans, no more, no less. They have gender roles that are created by society, and that leads them to inequalities. We should enlight those inequalities and treat them better so they can free themselves from inequalities"
"You're smart, Ji" Minho said, applauding.
"Ji ?" He tilted his head to the side in confusion.
"You know ... Like a shortened version of Jisung" Minho explained "Does that make you uncomfortable ?"
"Nope" Jisung smiled
"Good, then"
"What about homosexuality ?" He asked, out of nowhere.
"Huh ?" Minho frowned.
"Is it constructed by society as well ?" Jisung asked, and that made Minho think for a moment.
"Not really" He shook his head "Heteronormativity is constructed, because society made people think everyone should be straight"
"But ?"
"But Heterosexuality, Homosexuality, Bisexuality, Pan ... It's not only choices" Minho said, deep in thoughts.
"No ?"
"Nope, you don't choose who you prefer. You just fall in love for a human being, turns out it might be more for a gender, or for none depending on preferences" He explained, and watched how Jisung was listening with care.
"Oh... I think I'm understanding" He nodded.
Their morning talk turned out to be a long conversation that extended to the afternoon.
They continued sharing opinions and scientific researches on many subjects, both of them lost between the interesting subjects and between the jokes that were cracked in between the subjects.
