The sun hung high in the sky, casting shadows as the students flooded the school grounds. Among them was Ice, his demeanor calm and collected. He waved goodbye to Blaze as they parted ways at the entrance, both heading to their respective classes.
But as Ice walked through the corridors, he sensed a shift in the atmosphere. A group of boys loitered near the lockers, whispering and laughing among themselves. Ice quickened his pace, trying to avoid their gazes, but fate had other plans.
"Look who it is! The useless Ice!" one of the bullies called out, his voice dripping with mockery.
"Yeah, the only thing he's good at is eating all the snacks! Bet he's just as fat as before!" another jeered, causing the others to cackle.
Ice's heart sank, memories of a time when those words hit harder than they did now. He was fit and healthy, but the scars of his past lingered like ghosts. He held his head high, refusing to give them the satisfaction of seeing him hurt.
The insults continued to rain down. "What a waste of space! Just go back to the freezer where you belong!" The laughter echoed, a cacophony of cruelty that pierced through Ice's indifference.
Then, they lunged at him. Ice braced himself but felt the sting of their punches as they pushed him down, taunting him relentlessly. He clenched his fists, refusing to cry out or show any emotion. He'd endured worse before; he could handle this.
After what felt like an eternity, the bullies finally grew bored. They grabbed Ice and tossed him into a janitor's locker, slamming the door shut. Ice banged against the metal, his heart racing. "Let me out!" he shouted, panic rising in his chest, but no one came. The echoes of laughter faded, leaving him in darkness.
Time crawled by as Ice sat in the cramped space, feeling the weight of despair settle on him like a heavy blanket. As the afternoon rolled on, students began to leave for home, and still, no one came to check on him.
Meanwhile, Blaze was searching the school, worry etched on his face. "Where's Ice? He should have been out by now," he muttered to himself, glancing around. The others were helping him look, but no one had seen him.
"Maybe he's just hiding somewhere?" Taufan suggested, trying to lighten the mood, though the worry in his eyes betrayed him.
Solar, always observant, spotted a group of boys huddled together, snickering in the corner. "Something's off about them," he said, narrowing his eyes. He slipped away from the group, prowling around the school.
As he rounded a corner, he heard muffled sobs. His heart raced as he followed the sound to the janitor's room. He threw open the door to find Ice curled up in the darkness, tears streaming down his face, his eyes dull and vacant.
"Ice!" Solar exclaimed, rushing forward. He quickly unlocked the locker and pulled Ice out, cradling him in his arms. "What happened?"
Ice leaned into Solar's shoulder, his silent sobs breaking Solar's heart. "They... they hurt me," he choked out, feeling vulnerable for the first time.
Solar's anger ignited. "Come on, we're getting you out of here," he said, determination in his voice as he supported Ice, guiding him back to the group.
When they arrived, the atmosphere shifted from casual to concerned. Halilintar and Gempa rushed over, panic evident in their eyes. "What happened?" Halilintar demanded, looking at Ice's tear-streaked face.
"We need to get him to the nurse!" Gempa urged, his voice trembling with worry.
As they hurried to the nurse's office, Ice stumbled, feeling weak and faint. Taufan and Duri flanked him, offering support, while Blaze trailed behind, an uneasy feeling settling in his stomach. When they reached the nurse, she quickly assessed Ice's condition.
"It looks like he's been physically hurt, and he may have a concussion," she said, her tone serious.
Blaze felt a wave of rage crash over him. Without another word, he stormed out of the room, his fists clenched. Solar glanced at him, a knowing smirk on his face. He could sense Blaze's brewing storm.
As Blaze approached the group of bullies who had tormented Ice, a fire ignited in his amber eyes. "You!" he shouted, striding forward. The bullies froze, their smug expressions faltering as they recognized him. "You think it's funny to hurt my brother?"
They stammered, trying to back away, but Blaze wasn't having it. "You're going to regret ever touching him!" He swung a powerful punch, connecting with one of the boys' faces, causing him to stumble back in shock.
The others exchanged frightened glances, realizing the gravity of their situation. Blaze's voice dropped to a low growl. "If I ever see you touch Ice or bully anyone else, I swear, you'll wish you hadn't. Do you understand?"
With flames flickering around his hands, Blaze's intensity sent the bullies running, fear evident in their eyes. Blaze smirked, turning away to find Solar waiting for him, arms crossed and a proud grin on his face.
"Nice work, Blaze," Solar teased, fist-bumping him. "You really showed them!"
Meanwhile, back in the nurse's office, Gempa sat beside Ice, who had fallen unconscious after the nurse finished treating him. Duri's eyes were wide with worry. "Is he going to be okay?" he whispered, his voice trembling.
Taufan squeezed Duri's shoulder. "He will be fine. Ice is strong."
Halilintar and Gempa conferred with the nurse, discussing the next steps and keeping an eye on Ice. They exchanged worried glances, each brother feeling the weight of concern for their fallen sibling.
Eventually, Ice began to stir, blinking as he regained consciousness. The sight of his brothers brought him immediate comfort, though the worry etched on their faces made his heart ache.
"Why didn't you tell us what was happening?" Halilintar asked, his voice soft but firm. "We could have helped you!"
"I didn't want to worry you," Ice replied quietly, his gaze dropping to the floor.
As night fell, Blaze and Ice settled into their shared room. Blaze glanced over at Ice, sensing he was still awake. "I know you're not sleeping," he called out, a teasing smile on his face.
"How did you know?" Ice asked, genuinely curious.
"Just a feeling," Blaze shrugged, unable to suppress his grin. He watched as Ice slowly sat up, a hint of vulnerability lingering in his eyes. Blaze reached out, pulling Ice into a hug. "You don't need to worry about anything, you know that, right?"
Ice's heart swelled at the warmth of his brother's embrace. "I just... I think I'm useless," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
Blaze's expression shifted, shock washing over him. "You are not useless! You're my best brother, and I'd do anything to protect you. Don't you dare say that again!"
Ice's eyes widened, realizing the depth of Blaze's feelings. "I'm sorry," he murmured, guilt creeping in.
"Don't be sorry. Just promise you'll talk to me next time, okay?" Blaze replied, a hint of annoyance in his voice. "Let it out."
Ice froze, unsure what Blaze meant. "What do you mean?"
"Let it out!" Blaze huffed, rolling his eyes playfully. "I'm not repeating myself. Just tell me how you feel."
Tears started to form in Ice's eyes, overwhelmed by Blaze's insistence and support. He felt the floodgates begin to open, and before he knew it, he was crying, the tears spilling down his cheeks.
Blaze wrapped his arms around Ice, holding him tightly as the flood of emotions poured out. "It's okay, Ice. Let it all out. I'm here for you," he whispered soothingly, rubbing his brother's back gently.
As Ice cried, Blaze murmured comforting words, soothing him until he began to calm down. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and Ice fell asleep in Blaze's embrace. Blaze gently ruffled his hair, whispering, "I'll never let anyone hurt you. You're safe with me."
Just then, Gempa peeked into the room, a soft smile spreading across his face. He quietly snapped a photo of the two brothers, capturing the tender moment. "Goodnight, you two," he whispered before heading off, leaving them in their peaceful embrace.
