The story begins with Solar feeling restless. Even though the dark nights no longer frighten him like before, he's still struggling to sleep. His usual experiments have been paused since Halilintar and Gempa have been keeping a closer eye on him after his recent experiment fail. Tonight, instead of heading to his lab, Solar quietly slips out of his room and goes outside for fresh air.
He makes his way to the backyard of their home, where the sky is full of stars. The cool night breeze brushes against his skin, and he takes a deep breath, feeling a little calmer. The sky reminds him of space — vast, mysterious, and strangely peaceful when you're not floating alone in it.
As Solar stands under the stars, lost in thought, Gempa silently approaches from behind. He had noticed Solar leaving the house earlier and decided to follow, making sure his younger brother wasn't feeling down again.
"Can't sleep again, huh?" Gempa's voice is soft, almost playful as he walks up to Solar.
Solar jumps slightly, turning around quickly to see Gempa standing there with his usual gentle smile. He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, something like that," Solar admits, not wanting to lie. He shuffles a little awkwardly.
Gempa comes closer, sitting down on the soft grass and patting the spot next to him. "Come sit with me. It's been a while since we've just relaxed like this."
Solar hesitates for a moment but then nods, sitting down beside Gempa. The cool grass feels nice under his palms as he leans back, looking up at the sky again. For a while, neither of them says anything, just enjoying the quiet night and each other's company.
After a few minutes, Solar speaks up, his voice soft. "You know... I kind of miss this. Just being here like this... it's peaceful."
Gempa chuckles lightly, ruffling Solar's hair. "You're always so busy with your experiments. It's nice to see you take a break for once. You should do this more often."
Solar pouts, trying to swat Gempa's hand away from his hair. "Hey! I'm not a little kid anymore, you know."
Gempa just smiles warmly. "You'll always be my little brother. No matter how old or smart you get."
Solar huffs, but there's a small smile tugging at his lips as well. "You're so cheesy," he mutters, though there's no bite to his words.
Gempa's presence was always calming. His steady breathing and the warm aura he naturally gave off made Solar feel like everything would be alright, no matter what happened.
Without a word, Gempa began to hum a soft melody—a lullaby he had often hummed to Solar when they were younger. It was a tune that held so many memories. As the familiar hum filled the air, Solar closed his eyes, the tension slowly melting away from his body.
The lullaby was simple, but each note carried a comforting weight, as though wrapping Solar in a protective embrace. Gempa's voice was smooth, almost like a gentle river flowing softly in the night. Solar leaned back, listening intently as his brother hummed, feeling the warmth of the song seep into his bones.
He remembered how Gempa used to hum this melody to him when nightmares plagued him as a child. Back then, Solar would crawl into his bed, shaking, but Gempa would always pull him close, hum this song, and assure him that everything was alright. The same feeling of security washed over him now.
Gempa looked over at Solar and noticed how his little brother's body had relaxed, his breathing deepening slightly. A small, fond smile tugged at Gempa's lips as he continued humming, keeping his voice soft and soothing.
Solar shifted slightly and, without thinking, leaned his head against Gempa's shoulder. It was instinctual, a sign of how much trust and comfort he found in his older brother. Gempa paused for a second, surprised by the gesture, but his heart swelled with warmth. He adjusted his posture slightly to make Solar more comfortable and resumed humming, the melody even softer now.
