Dominique jolted from her hospital bed, a light sob escaping past her broken lips as the monitors around her stirred to life, reacting to her racing heartbeat with beeps and alerts to the nurses and doctors in the hallways.

 Quickly, she placed a twitching hand over her racing heart, the other reaching for her mouth as she clamped her hand down, her eyes frantically searching the room around her to find something to ground herself with.

As the monitors around her slowed, Dom felt her body calm slightly, remembering that her phone was with her against her bedside. 

Dom urgently reached for it, unlocking it frantically as she typed a text to their group chat with shaking hands, desperate for an update to Aiden's situation.

She could feel the life fade from him in her arms, his heart seeming to still while still resounding in warmth around her figure, comforting her in the panic of the debris falling from the ceiling.

Dominique released a stressed sigh, watching as the typing bubbles appeared at the bottom of her screen, hanging on by a thread as she frantically looked over her phone, refreshing the group chat over and over as to try and elevate the response time.

Rapunzel!

He's okay for now. He was really out of it but he woke back up after a couple minutes. There's something we all need to talk about. Urgently.

He was asking for you when he was in that weird ass state. Are you O.K.?

Dominique sighed, releasing the breath stuck in her throat as she swallowed the traces of bile rising in her throat as a result of her panic. She lifted her shaking fingers, running her other hand through her hair as she tried to resume her calm.
