Chapter Twenty Six
Arianna sat by herself at the common room, trying to finish her Potions Essay. She easily evaded the Marauders for the day,
“The properties….. Of moonstone… And its uses….. In potion making are….” Arianna muttered as she wrote down her twelve inch long essay
“You know what Riddle I worry about you sometimes,” Arianna ignored Sirius as he and his friends sat down across her “You keep talking to yourself and that is the first sign of madness, madness I tell you. Ah Riddle number – Hey, oi you were supposed to have a Riddle Moment!”
Arianna then looked up and raised her eyebrows
“Excuse me?” she said confusedly
“See! You’re supposed to have a Riddle Moment!” Sirius cried
“What the hell is a Riddle Moment?” Arianna asked, crossing her arms
“You were supposed to roll your eyes!” Arianna then rolled her eyes in annoyance
“There much better. Number five by the way,” said Sirius as he made his chair sit on two legs
“I must find a better thing to do when I’m annoyed,” Arianna muttered as she continued writing, ignoring the Marauders’ presence in front of her. James cleared his throat
“Well so much for that, you know what we are –“ Arianna held up a finger to hush James, she then wrote than her last sentence on her homework, and magically put her things away. Sirius was going to open his mouth but
“No Black I will not let you copy my homework,” said Arianna, Sirius then pouted and sank back onto his seat
“That wasn’t my homework anyway, that was my last will and testament because I know I’ll be dying early because of you four.” Arianna said dismissively
“Huh? But I thought that was your Potions –“
“Let’s not upset her Wormtail we, well Prongs needs her help remember?” said Remus before Peter could finish; Peter just nodded and blended into the background once again.
“Thank you Moony,” said James, he then folded his arms on the table and looked directly at Arianna who looked at them as if they were circus freaks. This was hard to consider because two of them were quite handsome,
“Now Riddle let’s –“
“Yes I know Potter,” said Arianna waving a hand dismissively “Now let’s start from the beginning I guess.”
“What do you mean?” asked James confusedly, Arianna groaned
“I meant, when did this infatuation of yours start?”
“Oh that!” said James, “It started when –“
“Fourth Year,” Remus finished for him, even doing a face palm
“After the Yule Ball,” Sirius added smiling reminiscently
“At first he wasn’t really voicing it out on her, only on us” said Remus
“When he did term was about to end, and he got stunned by Evans then,” said Sirius
“We thought he would give up but we thought wrong obviously,” said Remus
“Yeah, he’s claims that ‘she’s the one’ and other stuff. I don’t mind though he’s my best mate, so I got to cheer on my boy don’t I?” James and Sirius high fived each other
