Chapter Thirty

Lily was right about the ball. It was announced a week after their “incident” at Hogsmeade at that robe shop. Every girl from the Fourth Year until Seventh was panicking about what they were going to wear, the boys on the other were hand were all cool. In the public’s eyes.

“Are you sure no one has asked her yet?” James asked for what seemed to be the fiftieth time. Arianna groaned

“Yes!” she said exasperatedly as she slammed her Charms book “How many times do I have to tell you?!” The Marauders and Arianna were currently sitting by their own little spot at the common room, James instead of doing his homework was bugging Arianna about Lily and was trying to make a game plan as to how he would ask her to the ball.

“Chill Prongs,” said Sirius as he rested his hands behind his head “the ball is still like a month away… I’m sure you can make your magic.”

James nodded

“Yeah… Yeah you’re right... I should listen to you more often Padfoot.” Said James a but nervously, Arianna snorted

                “Yeah right,” she said sarcastically

“Hey be nice,” Sirius warned, Arianna rolled her eyes “Number four.”

Arianna ignored him and then proceeded to her Defense homework. She was getting used to being with the Marauders; she just found them quite annoying at times. She often tells them she feels like the third wheel but when she comes to think of it, Peter is the one who seems like the third wheel.

“What’s up with you Remus?” Arianna asked, looking at Remus Lupin who looked like he was contemplating something very hard.

“Nothing,” he said quietly looking away from her “I think I’m just feeling ill.”

Arianna pitied Remus; he was very sickly so he was a usual visitor at the Hospital Wing, if he wasn’t sick  had to visit his mother who was also sickly, whenever he came back the next day after he visited he always looked sick himself. Of course she never really knew the full story. She only knew the fake story Remus was putting up. Better yet, the Marauders were putting up.

“You should get some rest,” Arianna suggested

“Yeah I think I will,” said Remus gathering his things “I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” He then headed up the boys’ dormitory, Peter followed after him. James who looked like he was still thinking of a plan on how to ask Lily glanced at his watch and cursed

“Crap I forgot I have Quidditch practice!” he then hastily fixed his things up “See you guys later!” He then ran up to his dorm, and came almost instantly running back down with his broom and out of the common room. Which left Arianna and Sirius alone.

Arianna, who had been doing her Charms homework, looked curiously up at Sirius who seemed to be working on something. She was sure it wasn’t homework because Sirius just copied off some of Remus’ a while ago.

Arianna set her homework down and went beside Sirius,

“What are you up to?” she asked, Sirius immediately hid the papers he seemed to be working on

“Nothing.” He said, narrowing his eyes at her, Arianna did the same

“Selfish prat.” She muttered, Sirius stuck his tongue out at her as she went back to do her Charms homework. Sirius then happily went back to doing what he was doing a while ago. As she continued writing down her answers, she swore she heard Sirius talking to himself,
